The world was a wasteland, short on supplies and overrun by epidemics and mutated beasts.

The situation in the Southwest War Zone was dire, yet Yan Mingxiao was assigned a secret mission: travel to the Sun Crown Tribe and negotiate with the Old Humans.

Somehow, the negotiations ended with Yan Mingxiao being sent to a temple...

To thank their protector Bai Ze, the Old Humans offered him the perfect wife: a special mutated being who carried a "blessing." Unfortunately, Bai Ze paid little attention to his sweet, seemingly harmless bride.

The wedding was a magnificent affair. Yan Mingxiao knelt before the temple, gazed at the statue inside, and asked, "Are there really still gods in this world?"

Bai Ze did not answer.

Only when the boy was on the brink of death beneath the ruins, covered in wounds after protecting the Old Humans, did Bai Ze, the auspicious beast, finally appear. He turned the tide and saved the unfortunate humans once more.

"I have never acknowledged you as Bai Ze's wife."

"Then let's get to know each other again. Hello, I'm Yan Mingxiao, a major in the Southwest Army Corps assigned to the 'Wanderers.' I look forward to working with you."

Who could resist a sweet, obedient Yan Mingxiao gazing up at them, eager for a cuddle?

Bai Ze could. Not only did he ignore him, he left his wife alone for three months, without even letting Yan Mingxiao see him once.

With the battle situation growing urgent, Yan Mingxiao finished handling the aftermath at the Sun Crown Tribe and went to the temple to say goodbye before departing. The aloof Bai Ze transformed into a little matchmaker beast and was carried back to the combat zone by his wife.

The good news was, his aloof image was intact...

The bad news was...the combat zone was heavily polluted and its conditions were terrible. As a nonhuman creature, Bai Ze suffered badly from culture shock. Aside from secretly helping out when Yan Mingxiao went on missions, he was listless the rest of the time.

But Yan Mingxiao was popular with everyone, doted on by the whole group, and a powerful human weapon. He earned top honors in nine out of ten battles.

Watching his wife return from victory, laughing and chatting with other people, Bai Ze grew more and more jealous. He wondered whether to take Yan Mingxiao back or declare his claim on him.

Bai Ze chose the latter and transformed into human form on the spot.

In front of everyone, he asked Yan Mingxiao, "What am I to you?"

Yan Mingxiao stared at him in bewilderment. "Who are you?"

"Bai Ze. In human terms, what should you call me?"

Yan Mingxiao: "H-hubby?"

So the next day, everyone in the Southwest combat zone knew that Yan Mingxiao had a jealous husband who loved making snide remarks.

Love can be addictive. Bai Ze, a god with the nature of a husky, was here to brainwash you...
