The Grand Princess Returns for Revenge

The North and South had been at odds for decades. Jiang Yi, the Grand Princess of the southern state of Wu, had helped her younger brother ascend the throne when she was twelve. For ten years, she worked diligently and never dared to slack off, even postponing her wedding again and again. Yet just before the wedding, her own younger brother betrayed her and sent her north to the Prince of Zhennan’s residence in the state of Ye, to secure peace between the two nations. When Jiang Yi awoke, she had become a dancing girl in the Prince of Zhennan’s residence. She heard that the Grand Princess of Wu had died of illness, and that the Emperor of Wu was so grief-stricken that the whole nation was in mourning. She had been “declared dead,” and had lost her family, identity, power, wealth... everything. To return to Wu, Jiang Yi endured humiliation and did everything she could to curry favor with Xie Yi, the Prince of Zhennan. Xie Yi had guarded the border for years and survived countless assassination attempts. He never showed his true face, while his masked bodyguard watched as the dancing girl sent from Wu did everything possible to ingratiate herself with his stand-in. Xie Yi: Is this dancing girl a little dim? Much later, Jiang Yi escaped back to Wu, and peace talks between the two nations resumed. He met the legendary “resurrected” princess of Wu, only to realize in shock that she was someone from his own residence: the consort he had once doted on above all others. Xie Yi: I thought I was just messing with a fool, only to discover I was the biggest fool of all! Premise: Born human, fear no hardship, and swim against the current.
