[I've made a decision. I'm preparing to take the graduate school entrance exam for the second time this year, so I won't be able to update this book regularly. I'll unlock it later, and once it's unlocked, I'll keep updating until it's finished.]
[Update time: Between 9:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. every day. I'm a night owl, so please bear with me.]
[Coming soon: The Sickly Young Master Has the Chancellor's Script in the Bag [Imperial Examinations]. Please add it to your favorites!]
After transmigrating, Hu Tuli, born into a family of renowned cooks, finds herself in the body of Zhaojia Hutuli, the youngest daughter of Ma Erhan, Minister of War during the Kangxi reign. They share the same name.
As the youngest daughter, she is naturally doted on and pampered by everyone.
But before she can enjoy her carefree life for long, her father sends her off in marriage, sobbing and sniffling all the while. Her husband is Yinsiang, Kangxi's thirteenth son.
As a young woman from the 21st century, Hu Tuli knows all about her husband's temperament and history.
But when she counts on her fingers, she realizes that in less than three years, Yinsiang will be implicated in the crown prince's first deposition and spend more than a decade under house arrest.
Hu Tuli: ...
I just want to enjoy life, run a business and make a little money, travel through the mountains and waters, eat, drink, and be merry, and settle down as an unambitious rich woman. Why is that so hard?
Forced into the ranks of workaholics, Hu Tuli spends three years working hard (and cooking delicious food to tempt everyone), then finally gets her wish after Crown Prince Yinzhen is deposed for the first time in the forty-seventh year of Kangxi's reign: she sets off on a paid vacation, living the carefree life of a pleasure-seeking aristocrat.
The only difference is that Hu Tuli takes along an extra “travel companion.”
[Thirteenth Prince's perspective]:
Help! My wife only cares about making money. What do I do?
Help! My wife is always slacking off and only wants to travel. What do I do?
Help! How can I restore my authority as a husband and lead my wife to become a workaholic?
A few years later.
Yinsiang is having the time of his life in Shaanxi and Gansu, eating pork knuckles, cuddling his wife, and kicking the bottom of his toddler son's pants.
Who needs to be a workaholic? Isn't it better to be a royal wastrel with more silver than you can spend?
[Reading Guide]:
1. One-on-one romance, happy ending.
2. A gentle story about daily life, running a business, food, and travel, with a little romance on the side. I haven't written this kind of story before, so I wanted to slow down and try something different.
3. Since this is a slice-of-life story, food, business, sightseeing, and other everyday details take up a lot of space. The pacing won't be too fast, but it won't drag either.
4. A partly fictionalized setting. Some things will be changed: for example, Yinsiang won't have secondary consorts, and the heroine won't have so many children. So please don't come looking for historical accuracy.
[Preview of the upcoming story]
Song Quetang transmigrates into the body of the sickly third daughter of the declining Song family, once a prominent clan in the Nanxi Dynasty.
Being sickly is bad enough, but her mother died young and her father doesn't care for her. After he remarries, her stepmother sends her to a country estate outside the capital. Every day, she either muddles through life, waiting to die, or cries and worries about getting married.
Song Quetang is furious at her for giving up.
When she learns that the reigning empress of Nanxi has expressly allowed women to take the imperial examinations and hold government posts, Song Quetang wastes no time setting out on the road to the examinations.
The very next morning, Song Quetang gets up early, holds a hand warmer, and starts studying.
She doesn't believe fate is determined by heaven. She believes knowledge changes your destiny.
Who could have guessed that, along the way, she would become the most capable chancellor in the inner cabinet serving Empress Chaorong in her later years?
She will wield power across the court and be remembered in history!

“You must understand: the Song clan of Langwu is rising again today for one reason, and one reason alone. The Song in the Song clan is me, Song Quetang.”
