Lin Xiangyu and Qi Han were playing rock-paper-scissors in the last row of the classroom.
Qi Han waved her "paper" hand and said, "Hehe, buddy, thanks for taking one for the team. You can come in last this time, and I'll take your place next time. It'll be easier to explain at home."
Lin Xiangyu nodded. "Sure."
"Thanks!"
"No problem."
Qi Han really was a loyal friend. At the end of the term, she went ahead and came in last.

When sophomore year started, Qi Han rushed to sit with Lin Xiangyu. Grinning, she took his hand and said, "Let's keep working together!"
He rubbed his brow, looking rather troubled. "I'm afraid that's going to be difficult."
Qi Han understood. It was their first exam after choosing their academic tracks, after all. She slapped him on the shoulder with a carefree smile. "It's fine. We'll each do our best. Good luck!"
Lin Xiangyu gave a relaxed laugh.
On the day the results came out, Qi Han scanned twenty names up from the bottom and still couldn't find Lin Xiangyu. She panicked. "Buddy, you didn't skip the exam, did you?"
A classmate beside her kindly reminded her, "Wake up. He's in first place."
Qi Han: "...?"
She'd thought they were sworn brothers, coming in last and second to last together. Turns out you'd been doing charity work, trying out life at the bottom of the rankings.

The students in Class 2 of Senior Year were confused lately. The scenes they saw in class went like this:
Lin Xiangyu: "Wake up. If you'd just properly memorized this page you drooled all over, would you have come in last again?"
Qi Han: "Can you let me sleep for ten minutes?"
Lin Xiangyu sneered. "Why not just sleep forever? How about that?"
But outside school, at the claw machine in the mall, someone saw Lin Xiangyu gazing down at Qi Han with a smile and saying, "Which one do you want? I'll get it for you."
Qi Han: "You really don't mind which one?"
Lin Xiangyu rubbed the back of her head. "Why would I mind?"
