But every now and then, Zhou Yi could act like a decent person.

Chen Yimian: "Waaah, I've liked him for so long, and I spent ages making him a doll. He didn't have to keep it, but why did he throw it in the trash?"

She was waiting for Zhou Yi to sneer, "That's what you get for being blind and having terrible taste in men."

Instead, Zhou Yi simply crouched in front of her, wiped away her tears, and murmured, "Then make me a doll. I'll frame it and put it by my bed."

She saw the faint smile at the corner of his lips as he held his phone and asked lazily, "Yu Shu, shall we start over?"

Everyone laughed. There were no rules about what he had to say on the call, and Song Jingzhou's question was juicy enough to make them all hold their breath, waiting for Yu Shu's answer.

Yu Shu: "I know this is a dare."

Song Jingzhou chuckled. "So?"

His next words were drowned out by the crowd's teasing, but they came through the phone clearly to Yu Shu.

"You never replied to me."

After all these years, their old classmates were just as eager for gossip as ever. In the second half of the reunion, it was obvious that everyone had joined forces to target Yu Shu. At last, it was her turn to be punished.

As expected, her dare was to call her ex-boyfriend.

Amid the enthusiastic cheering, Song Jingzhou, who had been lounging on the sofa, was about to stub out his cigarette and reach for the phone in his pocket.

But before it rang, he saw Yu Shu already on a call.

"Ah Heng, are you free tonight?"

Song Jingzhou stared blankly. After a long moment, ashes fell onto his leg before he even noticed. He hurriedly stubbed out his cigarette.

When the reunion ended, a heavy rain was falling outside. Yu Shu waited in the lobby on the ground floor for it to stop. Song Jingzhou walked toward her, each step sure and steady.

He stopped in front of her and looked down at her, but raised a hand to brush the hair away from her cheek.

"Where's my answer?"

Yu Shu frowned and looked up at him. "What answer do you still want?"

Song Jingzhou held a cigarette between his lips, then wrapped her scarf around her a few more times, covering half her face, as if to stop her from speaking.

His eyes lowered, holding a trace of sorrow and stubbornness.

"Ms. Yu."

"You really are ruthless."

"No wonder you dumped me so decisively."
