Aren't there always characters like this?

When a detective gets stuck, there's always someone who pops up with the crucial evidence needed to identify the murderer. And I, Mo Ning, happen to be exactly that kind of person.

Before she died, she was terminally ill. After death, she was reborn inside a suspense manga.

Catching murderers and solving cases don't faze Mo Ning at all.

From beginning to end, she believes in just one thing: whether you die sooner or later, you're going to die in the end anyway, so you might as well choose sooner and save everyone time and effort.

Mo Ning is tired of this sinful city.

"When will this hopeless, ugly life finally end?"

In private, Mo Ning wears earrings and lip piercings, works the streets, and drinks and smokes. Her improper behavior earns her the scorn of her colleagues, but so what? She knows perfectly well that she's just an extra who appears in one panel in a corner of the manga, one indistinct face among a crowd of pixels.

Mo Ning quietly waits for the day the murderer comes after her, unaware that a gang of black-market thugs even more ruthless than the criminals has already set its sights on her...

The detective protagonists huddled in the corner: Damn, this woman is a miracle!
