Jiang Boyu was born under an unlucky star. Abandoned by his parents as a child, he had no friends, and even in his foster home he was ignored.
His homework was always "accidentally" lost by the class representative. His uniform always seemed to get stained "for no reason." His desk was forever piled high with junk that nobody bothered to clear away.
But recently, everything around him had started acting strangely.
The English test he didn't want to do was filled out by someone by the next morning.
The meal card he'd misplaced turned up mysteriously in his backpack after he got home.
The old doll lying by his pillow was in a different position every morning when he woke up.
Jiang Boyu picked up the little cat plush, whose expression was blank, and furrowed his brow. "...Has it come to life?"
[Bottom's perspective]
He Yin was a diligent top student, but an accident struck on the eve of the all-important college entrance exam.
When he woke again, he found himself a solitary ghost drifting through the world of the living, bound to a withdrawn boy. He couldn't remember anything about the accident.
Unable to return to his body, he was bored out of his mind. Every day, he followed the boy around, watching him go to and from school and get bullied, secretly lending a hand to help him.
At night, he possessed the plush toy again, poking his head out to watch the boy work on problems and muttering under his breath: Pick C, not D! The second-to-last question is so ridiculously wrong. Kid, get it together! You're going to Tsinghua or Peking University!
Since the boy couldn't see or hear him, He Yin had gotten used to chattering in his ear without restraint.
But then he suddenly saw the boy... quietly correct the mistake he'd pointed out.
And as the boy got up to pour himself some water, he seemed to glance in He Yin's direction.
Cat plush He Yin, trembling: He didn't see me, did he?!
