What Do I Do? My Online Date Is My Gloomy Roommate

Yu Zhong accidentally discovered his roommate's secret account. The posts were bleak, with a dark and eerie style, completely at odds with his roommate's usual demeanor. Suspecting he was severely depressed, Yu Zhong's overflowing empathy compelled him to look out for his roommate.

But the more he tried to help, the more things began to take a turn he had never imagined...

At first, his roommate's posts were: dark four-panel comics / horror photography / life is boring.

Now they were: he smells so good / want to * / bet he'd taste so sweet.

As the posts became more and more outrageous by the day, full of *explicit content, Yu Zhong finally couldn't take it anymore and angrily went to knock on his roommate's door.

The door opened. Qi Yuechen looked down at him, his expression half a smile. "What is it?"

Yu Zhong met his dark eyes and inexplicably felt a chill run down his spine. He took a step back. "...N-nothing. I just wanted to ask for the Wi-Fi password."

Having failed to confront him in person, Yu Zhong settled for posting a photo of his girlfriend from behind on his social media, hoping to put an end to his roommate's more-than-friendly thoughts about him.

His girlfriend was someone he'd met online, and he'd only ever sent her one photo of a long-haired figure from behind. While in the throes of his "honeymoon phase," Yu Zhong told his girlfriend everything.

For instance, his roommate was sharp and hard to deal with, and had a lot of schemes.

His girlfriend was gentle and considerate, always replying right away with adorable stickers that made him want to die from cuteness.

Later on

Cornered in a classroom by his online "girlfriend" Qi Yuechen, he was forced to give in to his every demand. His peach-blossom eyes glistened with tears, making him look utterly pitiful.

Qi Yuechen's fingertips traced his chafed, reddened lips. His eyes darkened as he murmured, "I'm hard to deal with and full of schemes?"

[Gong's POV]

Jiang Boyu was born under an unlucky star. Abandoned by his parents as a child, he had no friends or family around him and was an outcast at school.

His homework was always "accidentally" lost by the class rep. His uniform always somehow got stained. His home was always covered in dust, with no one ever coming to visit.

But lately, everything around him seemed to be changing strangely.

The English test he stayed up late but couldn't finish was filled in by someone by the next morning;

The wallet he accidentally lost on his way out mysteriously turned up on his desk a few hours later;

The worn-out Pikachu lying face-down by his pillow woke up facing a different way and in a new pose every day.

Jiang Boyu picked up the motionless squirrel plushie and frowned slightly. "...Has Pikachu come to life?"

[Shou's POV]

He Yin was a hardworking top student who got into an accident just before the make-or-break college entrance exam.

When he woke up again, he discovered he had become a lonely spirit drifting through the world of the living, bound to a reclusive boy. He had no memory of the accident.

Unable to return to his body, he was terribly bored. Every day, he wandered around the boy, watching him go to school and come home and get bullied, and secretly lending him a hand.

At night, he possessed Pikachu again and peered out at the boy doing homework, muttering nonstop: Pick C, not D. You got the second-to-last question ridiculously wrong. Come on, kid, get it together! You're supposed to get into Tsinghua or Peking University!

Since the boy couldn't see or hear him, he was completely unrestrained, having gotten used to chattering away in his ear.

Then, all of a sudden, he saw the boy... quietly correct the mistake he'd pointed out.

And, as the boy got up to pour himself some water, he seemed to glance in this direction.

Pikachu He Yin, trembling with fear: Have I been found out?!
