Sheng Nianchu discovered a new coffee shop downstairs from home. The coffee was delicious, and the decor was lovely.
The only problem was that the owner looked a little scary.
The coffee shop even had a rather offhand name: "Since You're Here"
Then one day, Sheng Nianchu saw the owner, who was always stone-faced, crouching lazily on the steps outside the shop with a cigarette in his mouth, feeding stray cats.
The sunlight was gentle, and his fingers were long and slender as he played with the cats.
Maybe he wasn't that scary after all?
The next second, the owner looked up and narrowed his eyes at Sheng Nianchu.
Sheng Nianchu shivered. Eep, he was still so scary.

Pei Zhuo had recently met a rather scatterbrained regular.
Every day, the same time, the same seat, the same kind of coffee.
The customer had a sweet, well-behaved look, but their face practically screamed "keep your distance," like a good kid deliberately pretending to be cool.
They just didn't have much courage. They seemed a little afraid of him.
Pei Zhuo thought the timid little thing was adorable.
The way they drank coffee was adorable, and so was the way they stared out the window, lost in thought.
That day, when Pei Zhuo couldn't resist looking toward the door for the third time, he finally saw the familiar figure that should have arrived ages ago.
But that figure seemed to be in trouble.
Pei Zhuo, who usually minded his own business, couldn't help stepping in to sort it out.
Instead of hearing a thank-you, he heard Sheng Nianchu gather his courage and ask, "Boss, can I bring my cat to the shop with me from now on?"

Ever since Sheng Nianchu got dumped, he had never thought about dating again.
He certainly never expected to be pursued by a rich young master like Pei Zhuo, who was both cool and intimidating.
Sheng Nianchu didn't believe in the "you'll love it once you try it" saying. Dating was out of the question, now and forever.
But when Pei Zhuo crouched in front of him like a big dog, using his freshly buzzed hair to playfully prick Sheng Nianchu's palm, his heart skipped a beat.
When Pei Zhuo used that sour-looking face of his to teach a kitten to say "meow," without changing his expression, Sheng Nianchu's heart skipped another beat.
And when Pei Zhuo looked at him with the coldest expression and said the gentlest words, Sheng Nianchu fell hard for him.
Maybe dating wasn't completely out of the question after all?
[Confused, introverted beauty bottom with a thing for good looks and a head full of thoughts] x [Cool, roguishly handsome young master top, rough around the edges with everyone else but shamelessly biased toward the bottom]
Reading Guide:
1. A sweet-and-sour little story. 1v1, both pure, each other's first love. (The bottom has a trashy ex who is just a disposable side character in name only.)
2. Same-sex marriage is legal in this fictional setting. No real-life inspirations.
3. They are both in love with each other, and the top absolutely spoils the bottom. Absolutely, ridiculously much.
4. The bottom has psychological issues. They aren't serious, and he will recover. Please don't read if this bothers you.
Theme: No hardship can stand in the way of love and kindness
