Xuan Mu, Water Lord of the Divine Realm, governs all the waters under heaven and wields water as a weapon. He is the Divine Lord's most prized son, as well as the God of War of the Divine Realm.
During a battle against an invasion by the demon and monster clans, Xuan Mu was caught off guard and struck by a seal laid by the enemy. His powers were sealed, and he lost his memory.
When he woke, he was in a humble little bamboo hut. Before him sat a woman with her legs crossed, holding an abacus.
Confused, he asked, "Who are you? Where is this?"
"This is Biluo Mountain," the woman said unhurriedly. "I'm your creditor, Meng Chensu."
The woman shook her abacus. "When you fell, you smashed four of my medicinal herb plots, ruined the herbs I was about to harvest, and destroyed three trays of dried medicinal herbs I had set out nearby. By Biluo Mountain's exchange rates, you owe me a total of 3.85 million Star-Gathering Pearls. How do you plan to pay me back?"
"..."
Xuan Mu searched himself from head to toe, but couldn't find a single thing of value.
Meng Chensu worked her abacus and continued, "If you have no money, you'll have to work for me here. Based on what you owe, you'll need to work for me for 9,993 years."
"..."
Two words sprang into Xuan Mu's mind: unscrupulous merchant.
Meng Chensu stood up and tossed him a broom. "Now go sweep the floor."
"..."
Xuan Mu worked for Meng Chensu on Biluo Mountain for two years.
One full-moon night, a meteor fell from the sky and struck him.
He thought he was going to die, but fortune came from misfortune. As he teetered on the brink of death, his memories returned, the seal the demon clan had placed on him broke, and his powers came back.
He remembered who he was. The war between the Divine Realm and the demon and monster clans was not over, and in a single night, he left Biluo Mountain.
Without Meng Chensu chattering in his ear, he found himself missing her a little.
He saw Meng Chensu again after the war between the gods, monsters, and demons was over.
The Divine Realm held a banquet to celebrate. She stood beside the King of the Underworld, chewing on a celestial peach with a bored expression.
Xuan Mu was astonished. He strode over. "Meng Chensu?"
Meng Chensu slowly turned around. "And you are?"
Xuan Mu: "?"
She chuckled. "I'm just teasing you."
Xuan Mu: "..."
Smiling, she held out her hand. "Pay me back."
Xuan Mu: "…"

On the day the head of Chonghua Mountain celebrated his hundredth birthday, a bolt of thunder struck two of the mountain's peaks.
Situ Qing, out for a walk on Changyu Peak, and Murong Jing, practicing on the edge of a cliff on Lingyun Peak, were both struck without warning.
Luckily, they were unharmed, but each felt something strange in their body.
Then one day, Murong Jing, who was usually aloof and quiet, began acting out of character. One moment he was irritable, the next he wanted to cry. Then he would be so angry he wanted to hit someone, only to feel so miserable a moment later that his chest felt tight.
Following what his body seemed to be telling him, Murong Jing went to the back mountain of Changyu Peak and found Situ Qing crouched on the ground, clutching her stomach.
The instant their eyes met, they both realized what had happened.
Murong Jing stared at Situ Qing, whose face was slightly pale. "What are you doing crouching on the ground?"
Situ Qing answered awkwardly, "I got my period. My stomach hurts..."
Murong Jing: "...?"
The two later discovered that after being struck by lightning at the same time, they could feel what the other was feeling in their body.
With men and women being different, this wasn't exactly a good thing.
Murong Jing figured this was because they had been struck by lightning. After discussing it with Situ Qing, he summoned heavenly lightning with a spell and tried to get it to strike them, hoping to break their connection.
After being struck by lightning several times, Situ Qing, her hair singed and her face blackened with soot, waved a hand in despair. "Senior Brother, I can't go on... Let's try again next time... If I get struck again, I'll be cooked..."
Murong Jing, his face just as blackened, raised his sword. "One more try!"
Situ Qing nearly cried. "Somebody save me..."

Coming soon: The Chang'an Heir's Wife
↓
The wife of the Minister of Justice saved Princess Xunyang when the princess suffered a sudden asthma attack at a temple.
Princess Xunyang brought people to thank her and, while she was at it, presented an imperial decree of marriage, arranging a match between the Chang'an Prince's estate and the Minister of Justice's household.
Rumor had it that Xu Xuanyu, heir to the Chang'an Prince's estate, was a sinister and terrifying man. He oversaw the prisons, used ruthless methods, acted swiftly and decisively, and had no regard for anyone. Even dogs were afraid of him and went out of their way to avoid him.
As a result, he was over twenty-five and still unmarried.
When the Minister of Justice's second daughter, who already had someone she loved, heard about the arrangement, she cried, threw tantrums, and threatened to hang herself. The third daughter wasn't even old enough to marry, so she pretended to be a fool in the household. The two girls raised such a ruckus that the whole place was in chaos, and neither was willing to marry into the prince's estate.
But who could disobey an imperial decree of marriage?
In the end, the match fell to the eldest daughter of the Minister of Justice, Shi Jinxin.
Shi Jinxin's mother died when she was young. She was raised by her grandmother and had spent her childhood in the secluded inner courtyard. One day, she left those walls only to be sent straight to the bridal sedan chair and married into the Chang'an Prince's estate.
On their wedding night, Xu Xuanyu walked up to the bridal chamber. Before he could open the door, he heard a steady thumping from inside.
He opened it and saw Shi Jinxin in her wedding clothes, holding a hammer and cracking walnuts to eat.
Their eyes met, and the air fell silent.
With her cheeks puffed out, Shi Jinxin chewed a little, then held out a cracked walnut toward Xu Xuanyu. "Want some?"
Xu Xuanyu: "..."
--
After spending some time with her, Xu Xuanyu decided his heir's wife was a little white rabbit: beautiful as a painting when quiet, sweet and obedient.
Shi Jinxin wasn't afraid of him. Whenever he spoke to her, she always answered.
As they spent more time together, Xu Xuanyu came to think she was quite nice, unlike other women.
One day, Xu Xuanyu went out on business and spotted Shi Jinxin strolling around the streets. To his surprise, he saw someone picking a fight with her.
He was about to step in, but the next moment, Shi Jinxin kicked the other person two zhang away.
Then Xu Xuanyu felt the whole world around him go quiet.
His heir's wife... really was unlike anyone else.
