The Child of a Demon and a Human

Raising a Little Monster

In the far north of the demon realm, where blizzards rage all year round, a tall, fearsome monster with fangs, claws, twin horns, and pitch-black skin found a snow-white human child in his yard.

The monster named the child Shuleige, meaning Child of the Wind and Snow. Beautiful as snow, the child was also fragile and soft. The thick-skinned monster had to keep his claws curled up every moment, take care to rein in his strength, and look after the child with his heart in his throat.

But the child loved playing pranks and games with the monster most of all. Then one day, the child said they should play hide-and-seek, and the monster never found him again.

Just like his name, Shuleige had vanished into the wind and snow.

A very, very long time later, the monster was called upon once more. The one calling him was Shuleige, all grown up, but sealed inside a box.
