A Courtesan's Guide to Starting Over

[Check out my new novel, The Experimental Subject Dreams of a Little Fox Tsukumogami. The blurb is at the very bottom =3=] Chiyo's life has always gone smoothly. Even in the pleasure quarter, her beauty was enough to make her the top courtesan. In some ways, the pleasure quarter is a lot like the workplace, at least to Chiyo. She thought she could save up enough money as a top courtesan and retire at the right time. But she never expected... A rival would show up and start competing dirty! Not as pretty as her, unable to play a single instrument, and with a terrible temper, this woman still wanted to be a top courtesan? Chiyo crushed the newcomer, whose ambitions were higher than the sky, on the very first day. That night, the woman came looking for her. Don't push it! So what if you're a demon? You can't beat me, so now you want to eat me?! "Don't let me catch you in hell!" That was the nastiest thing Chiyo could say with death staring her in the face. She couldn't help it... As a cultured courtesan, she didn't know how to curse. Then she heard a soft laugh. "Isn't it a little too soon to call it over?" Beneath the moonlight, the great sword a nobleman had gifted her had somehow taken human form. Dressed in a gorgeous woman's outfit, he smiled at her with pursed lips. * Jiro's first real encounter with the top courtesan was fraught with danger. At the time, a demon was lunging at the beautiful human courtesan. The courtesan was dressed in finery, her brilliant fabric spread across the floor, and her eyes were brimming with tears. How pitiful, Jiro thought. ...How adorable. * Chiyo was chosen by a demon slayer. After a demon killed her, she chose to drink the Blood of Muzan. Every death brought a new transformation. "My wish is to wipe out every demon," the former top courtesan declared. "..." "All right, I'm petty. My wish is to kill the demon who killed me. Yes, that Upper Rank demon who's not as pretty as me, not too bright, and just as petty. She gets one slap, and her brother gets two." And then? "The Demon King who destroyed my family gets three slaps, followed by a nice sunbath." *Reader's Guide* 1. Mainly Demon Slayer, with occasional visits from other fandoms. 2. The male lead is a sword warrior with maxed-out combat skills. His true form is a great sword, and he usually dresses as a gorgeous beauty in the style of a top courtesan. ----Divider----- [New Novel Blurb] When Haruna was very young, she and a tsukumogami made a promise to be together when she turned eighteen. Before that time arrived, she became an experimental subject inside a jar. Outside the jar was a sinister brain stitched together with seams. Turning eighteen became a distant dream. Missions, missions, missions. Break down, grow stronger, break down again. Haruna only remembered that she was supposed to have a little dog... or maybe a fox. He took the form of a fox, was all fluffy, and said he was a sword. She dreamed of the little fox tsukumogami. "I'm fighting the Swords of Rupture, doing my best to reach you," the little fox tsukumogami said. "Could you wait for me a little longer?" Waiting was no problem. Haruna thought. She was going to get something fluffy! Missions weren't all bad. Haruna always met nice people, and she grew stronger and stronger. So she made a promise to the cursed technique user that they would play together again someday. A promise to the Heavenly Restriction tyrant that he would find happiness. A promise to the researcher who had used a ten-year bazooka that she would gain her freedom. A promise to the Six Eyes prodigy of the Gojo family... Promises, promises, promises. Haruna's cursed technique was promises. * "I like you, so you have to like me too," Haruna said to the little fox. The little fox smiled, showing his sharp teeth. "But I've liked you for a very, very long time." At first, he had made a contract with a little child. When they met again, she had become an experimental subject who barely looked human and could only call him "puppy." Clumsy, resilient, kind Haruna. When the girl carefully combed his fur for the first time, the little fox felt himself being tamed. [Reader's Guide] 1. The pairing is with the little fox, the little fox sword warrior.
