What Should I Do After Becoming the Heroine of an Angsty Novel?

In the past, when Yu Huaijin came across a post about this, she cursed out the male lead of the melodramatic novel whose heroine shared her name, and boldly declared she'd knock him flat.

When she woke up again, she'd actually become the heroine of that very novel.

Yu Huaijin: I should've known better than to make that claim without memorizing the whole story first.

The heroine of this angst-filled novel that shared her name couldn't have had it worse. She was abused physically and emotionally, then ran away while pregnant. It had every old-school trope in the book.

Thinking about the tortured romance she was supposed to go through, Yu Huaijin considered her options and promptly exposed the second female lead's scheme. Then she took her enormous divorce settlement and got the hell out of this melodramatic mess.

What she hadn't expected was that the male lead, who had loathed her to the extreme, would suddenly cling to her and try to win her back. He even flew into a rage and tried to force her to return to him.

If a System hadn't been desperately holding Yu Huaijin back, she would've punched the male lead's eyes out.

Say no to the groveling ex, starting with me.

After getting away from the male lead, Yu Huaijin finally breathed a sigh of relief and planned to focus on earning money so she could go home. To her utter surprise, the original story's second male lead confessed his love for her.

Yu Huaijin, who planned to earn enough money and go home: Buddy, you really shouldn't say things like that.

Yu Huaijin hefted the brick she'd been planning to smack the male lead with, unable to figure out whether this second male lead had fallen for the way she beat people up.

Maybe he was just blind and easy to fool.

Xin Hanzhi transmigrates into a world formed from the fusion of three novels.

As it happens, each of the three books has a second female lead named Xin Hanzhi.

The System requires her to pursue all the protagonists at the same time and wreck their romances.

Xin Hanzhi: "Please, just split me into three copies."

The three couples are in three different places. You can't expect me to pull this off!

Today, she's the clingy second female lead who hangs around the male lead of a campus romance.

Male lead: "Xin Hanzhi, you're seriously annoying. Stop hanging around me."

Tomorrow, she's the capable assistant to the male lead of an entertainment industry novel.

Male lead: "Remember, you're just my assistant. Don't dream about things you shouldn't have."

The day after that, she's the gentle fiancee of the male lead in a CEO romance.

Male lead: "Xin Hanzhi, this is just a marriage alliance between our families. I hope you'll know your place."

Xin Hanzhi: That's disgusting. If I have to pursue someone, I'd rather pursue the heroines. Who could possibly dislike sweet, soft girls?

But then the male leads change.

Campus romance male lead: "I'm going to play ball today. Remember to bring me some water."

Entertainment romance male lead: "I heard you're a fan of mine. Stop looking at my photos and look at me."

CEO romance male lead: "Even though ours is a family-arranged marriage, I love you."

And that's not all. The heroines seem strange too.

Campus romance heroine: "Zhizhi, if you don't understand this problem, I'll explain it to you."

Entertainment romance heroine: "Zhizhi, those girls are nasty. Stay away from them."

CEO romance heroine: "Zhizhi, they were mean to me. It was really scary."

Watching the plot veer off course, Xin Hanzhi suddenly gets a bad feeling. "Wait, has our sisterly affection turned into something else?"
