After the Whole Internet Hated Me, I Bound a Truth-Telling System

I was the most hated person on the whole internet, but after binding myself to a Truth-Telling System, nothing in the entertainment industry could stay hidden.

Zhang Youyu was a total nobody, ranked thirty-eighth tier. In her ten years since debuting, she took countless terrible roles, made headlines by piggybacking on top-tier stars, and lied whenever she opened her mouth. With scandals following her everywhere, she was hated across the internet, and countless netizens called for her to leave the industry. Her company was on the verge of terminating her contract.

While participating in the last fully enclosed livestream reality show of her life, the Truth-Telling System came to her. It told her she could either bind herself to the System and be reformed, collecting fans' shock points to become the hottest star in the entertainment industry, or leave the industry and vanish without a trace, suffer a tragic accidental death, then have her browser history dug up and her chat logs leaked after she died.

Zhang Youyu sat bolt upright on her deathbed and decisively chose to bind herself to the System. She started by taking on her fellow contestants.

When the show started, one of them made a sly dig at Zhang Youyu for being a company-backed star who was copying her career path.

Zhang Youyu nodded. "That's right. I got my resources by sleeping with people, while she got hers by letting people sleep with her. Last night, she was reading scripts with someone until the middle of the night. It got pretty explicit..." (Muted.)

The haters: !! Wait, what did I just hear?

A former target of Zhang Youyu's publicity stunts posted a veiled accusation that she had deliberately latched onto him for attention and used backdoor connections to steal his role.

Zhang Youyu: "I don't know if I used the back door, but I do know he used the side door."

The haters: Holy crap, she's spewing filth!

Her company's CEO wanted to fire her. She said the CEO was having an affair with an actor's wife, and that the actor's daughter wasn't his.

The haters: !! Shocking!

With the Truth-Telling System, Zhang Youyu unleashed one explosive revelation after another and took the entertainment industry by storm. Her fans leaped around in the melon patch, calling her the entertainment industry's quality inspector, 24-karat titanium-alloy eyes, truth detector, and a beacon of righteousness. They were terrified that she would be banned. Zhang Youyu dug at her ear. "Don't drag me into this. I'm getting ready to leave the industry and take the civil service exam."

The civil service world: !! Oh no. This life-or-death showdown is coming for us.

Her fans: !! Oh no, she's trying to run! We have to keep her in the entertainment industry. Let's crowdfund to make her a top-tier star.

Later, after Zhang Youyu became a top-tier star, her former haters, now her devoted fans, wept bitterly. "My Fish Sister just likes telling the truth. What did she ever do wrong?"
