Everyone who knows Mo Bai seems to think he lives up to his name: quiet and reserved. As distinct as black and white, he still somehow inspires people to trust him.
Only Mo Bai knows that he's merely a visitor from another timeline, a god-thief who hunts fallen deities in pursuit of transcendence. He just happens to like this world that appeared through a twist of fate. It would be even better if fallen deities didn't show up in droves in this world full of superheroes.
Mo Bai desperately wanted to go on strike. But after looking at the System's built-in prophecy of how things would end, he ultimately decided to work overtime for the superheroes he'd once sincerely loved. He also made a very serious, heartfelt suggestion to the System: Please, take Hades' godhood trial version out of the Host's beginner's gift pack. Not every Host has the determination to climb out of the coffin of a shut-in god of the underworld like he did.
The System could only scoff.
[Reading Guide]
1. This is my take on Greek mythology. OOC warning. Some gods' names may differ from what readers know, such as whether the god of death is called Thanatos or Thanatos, which is purely a matter of transliteration.
2. This is my take on superheroes. Any OOC is on me, so please go easy on me.
3. No CP for now. A happy ending is a must. Some things won't be revealed even if they're heavily hinted at. Feel free to discuss in the comments.
4. You can leave the author a message about anything, but the author is sensitive and won't accept baseless abuse. If you want to argue, you're right, thanks.
5. I've added two chapters and feel the writing and style might have issues, so I'll do a major outline revision later. Please look forward to it, and feel free to bookmark the story. I definitely won't abandon it.
