A Way Out for the Classic Female Lead

Yan Yao is the heroine of an old-school angst novel. She and Ji Yunting spend ten years tangled up together, going through three pregnancies and three miscarriages, leaving the country three times and returning three times, before finally “getting their happily ever after.” To put it bluntly, she has every trope of an old-school novel heroine. A fresh, pure little white lotus face and a delicate, Lin Daiyu-like figure. A poor and humble background, and a second male lead who stays by her side until death... If nothing went wrong, she would follow the course laid out for her, completing a whole series of physically and emotionally torturous plotlines. But Yan Yao awakens and gets a [Straight Girl System]. And so Yan Yao transforms from a little white flower into a completely straight-talking woman. -- The old-school male lead: She's my childhood friend's little sister. What's wrong with giving her a hug? You're making a fuss over nothing! The straight-talking heroine now: He's the guy next door. What's wrong with splitting the cost of matching couples' pajamas? You're the one picking a fight! The second male lead is overjoyed, firing off one sugary line after another: “Don't be upset, Yaoyao. I'm sorry, it's all my fault. But Ji Yunting does have a bit of a temper.” “Last time, he even shared a spoon with that girl. We're just wearing matching pajamas.” “He gets angry so easily. I'm not like that... You could say anything to me, and I wouldn't get mad.” Yan Yao feels wonderful. This is great! So this is how Ji Yunting felt all along! Everyone loves a sweet-talker. They just hate that the sweet-talker picked someone else! -- # The second male lead gets the girl, and the heroine doesn't suffer # Who wants to be a caged songbird? I want to be a golden eagle # Childhood friends beat out newcomers Note: The blurb has been screenshotted. Theme: Charge ahead fearlessly
