He was being followed again. His mental state was nearly collapsing from fear.
The stalker made no effort to hide, but strangely, even though the man stood right in front of him, he could never make out his face.
Was he going crazy?

Lin Ye had moved to a new home again. His new neighbor was gentle, handsome, and easy to get along with.
By coincidence, Lin Ye often ran into him. The man would sometimes invite him out, always knowing just how far to go, a gentle smile forever on his face.
They became close friends after the neighbor drove off the creep who had been stalking Lin Ye.
The neighbor suggested pretending to be Lin Ye's boyfriend so he could protect him. Lin Ye didn't refuse.

Lin Ye thought his neighbor was strange. He would disappear for a while, saying he was ill and had to go for regular checkups. He also refused to let Lin Ye accompany him.
On his way home from work one day, Lin Ye found the neighbor's door ajar. From inside came a hoarse whisper: "A Ye, A Ye, my A Ye."
Why was his neighbor calling his name?
Lin Ye crept closer and peered into the room.
Suddenly, the man turned and met his eyes. His frenzied laughter grew louder and louder. That face, unfamiliar yet familiar, made Lin Ye's heart race, and everything in the room was now laid bare before him.
It seemed he had discovered his neighbor's secret. He tried to run like a madman, but was tackled to the floor. The man's cold hand gripped his ankle, his voice intimate and tender as water:
"Darling, you finally found out."
Lin Ye stared in terror into those smiling eyes and recognized the stalker as the one who had haunted his nightmares. The face, identical to the statue of the god, now had clear features.
He trembled all over, as if plunged into an ice cellar. "It was all you?"
The man smiled with delight. "The god you prayed to is protecting you, my A Ye."
