Jiujin Xiang is an utterly ordinary amnesiac who transmigrated into the Detective Conan world. In his everyday life, his presence is so faint that he's like a nameless background character in a manga.
But after an explosion case, he remembered his life before transmigrating. A System also tracked him down through the internet and told him that if he didn't make himself noticeable, the world would kick him out and turn him into a giant piece of garbage that had given up thinking.
Believing in cooperation for mutual benefit, and wanting to keep himself alive, Jiujin Xiang decided to use his secret identities to make a huge splash on a forum in another, real-world dimension.
[The Phantom Thief's Assistant]
"Why did you plan this route for me? Mine's obviously shorter."
"There's a seafood delivery truck over there."
"...Fine, I'll take your route."
[An Amusement-Seeker on the Edge of Crime]
"The time has come to begin the show. Let the thunderous applause commence."
In the little detective's blue eyes, the fireworks behind him bloomed brilliantly, yet left the detective chilled to the bone.
[Accomplices]
"We're accomplices," the other him said. He only smiled and wrapped his hand around his other self's throat.
For my next book, a sudden burst of inspiration turned into a new project. It's guaranteed to be a ridiculous comedy, no false advertising. Here's the blurb:
Yabuki Yuji
An utterly ordinary shut-in otaku obsessed with video games.
His favorite games range from Pokemon to Assassin's Creed to some old developer's Souls game. His enthusiasm burns bright, dies down, then burns bright again. He's fickle, but devoted.
His tastes are broad, spanning every kind of game. He's been a cowboy in the Wild West and a Class A war criminal, though only when he lost. If he won, he was the supreme player emperor.
He's been a savior in games, saving so many worlds that a dozen still wouldn't be enough. Put them together and there's enough for a game of mahjong, with the worlds serving as the tiles.
He's no paragon of goodness, either. In games, he can slaughter people without batting an eye, using grenades and an AK-47 to wipe out an entire gang, then pull over in the middle of a high-speed getaway to let an old lady cross the road.
He was a menace in the starting village, living by the principle that a thief never leaves empty-handed. He wouldn't leave until he'd stripped the villagers of everything. If he passed a blade of grass, he'd pluck it to use as an ingredient for a healing potion. If he passed a chicken, he'd hit it once just to see whether the whole village would come after him.
This was the chaotic fourth disaster, and he transmigrated into a game he was playing.
Clash of Red and Black, a single-player game made by an unknown game company in collaboration with the official Detective Conan franchise, featuring licensed crossovers with numerous manga from Weekly Shonen Jump.
Promoted as "another real world," it drew not only fans of the original Detective Conan manga and anime, but also a huge number of hardcore gamers looking for something to play.
Yabuki Yuji was one of the many gaming otaku drawn in by the early footage.
And then he transmigrated.
From that day on, the world had one less shut-in otaku and one more meddlesome NPC who loved watching the world burn.
Forum:
[Fastest clear route: I got sacrificed by that man and thrown in jail at the start, then the Organization silenced me.]
[I'm getting impatient!! When is this game getting a romance route? I want to date that man and then dump him, so he can experience the pain of a broken heart too!! (Outrageous remark)]
[New player here: Who exactly is this "man" you keep talking about? Does this game have a crossover with Harry Potter?]
Yabuki Yuji: Isn't this perfectly normal for a fourth disaster? (totally self-assured.jpg)
Then the worlds merged.
Yabuki Yuji, who used to be such a menace he'd climb onto rooftops and cause trouble for everyone, was now shaking with fear and decided to pack up and run immediately.
When all the people he'd wronged came knocking, he clutched a suitcase and smiled awkwardly. "What if I told you I was forced into it too? Would you believe me?"
"You tell me. :)"
