[The game mechanics are my own design, not a pure deserted-island survival story. A game novel should have a game that's fun to play!]
In a new era of abundance, Dreamscape Inc. released a single-player full-dive management game where players could try out all kinds of activities on an uninhabited island.
Foraging along the shore, construction, stockpiling, farming, raising animals... and even "chance encounters," where your looks might matter.
To promote the game, Dreamscape Inc. decided to hold a player competition livestreamed across the internet. Only a handful of lucky players would get early access to Castaway on a Deserted Island.
Mu Siyi was one of the ten thousand lucky contestants who won a spot.
Now, the closed beta competition was about to begin, and there could only be one winner!
In an interview after the survival competition ended:
Host: Contestant Mu Siyi, what would you say was your advantage over the other players?
Mu Siyi almost blurted out, "Because I've really been hungry before," but managed to stop herself just in time.
She thought for a moment, then answered with an inscrutable expression: "Perhaps it's because I'm pretty frugal."
A comment floated across the livestream.
[That's obviously because you're a full-blown hoarder!]
A modern woman in the future. The heroine is a hardcore gamer and a lucky one. This is just a fun, feel-good story. I'll start it once The Ranger next door is finished.
Theme: Cherish food. It's everyone's responsibility.
