Zhu Qi, the strongest worker at the quick transmigration bureau, saved up enough money to retire in bliss and returned to the world she had been in before quick transmigration.
Back then, the director of the audition show she'd been working on had sincerely invited her to participate as a contestant. She turned him down, then a week later died at her computer after pulling an all-nighter editing footage.
Back at the fork in the road, Zhu Qi remembered that the show was supposed to be canceled about a week later because of a major public-relations disaster. She solemnly nodded to the director.
But the show went ahead as planned.
Zhu Qi couldn't sing and was even worse at dancing. She figured, "Can the idol industry really be more cutthroat than my last job? If I'm useless enough, surely I'll be eliminated in the first round!"
She raised the banner of anti-overwork. She would film for no more than eight hours a day. If filming ran late, she would vanish from the cameras, and there was no way she'd record any spin-off shows. All overtime had to be resisted!
This season had an especially huge fanbase. A crowd of office workers who had never followed an audition show before flooded the fan groups, declaring they would vote for Zhu Qi. They spent all their time slacking off at work boosting her stats, and somehow shoved her into the center position!
Zhu Qi: Hmph, I signed a contract that doesn't even make me a contestant. Just because you want me to debut doesn't mean I have to, does it?
*Bonus Scene
Zhu Qi hadn't prepared at all for her first performance. She went onstage and lip-synced, without even matching her mouth to the song.
Judge: "Do you think the judges are blind? Lip-syncing is disrespectful to the stage!"
Zhu Qi looked confused. "Huh? Aren't idols supposed to lip-sync?"
Don't even try to fool her! The idols she'd picked as favorites when she was in school never sang live!
