[Greek Mythology] The Dreamweaver's Kingdom

I sing of Hypnos of the silver wings, child of the night. He is the youth who sings lullabies to the world. Born in the arms of Nyx alongside the messenger of death. He grew up in the land of eternal night. White poplar nymphs sang for him, and black-and-gold butterflies of Hades danced for him. He walks with the night, lulling the weary to sleep and bringing rest to the world. He is an immortal god, clever of mind and swift of foot. In dreams, he teaches mysteries to his followers. He gives courage to those who fear death. He is the joyful god who sows happiness. He wears a wreath woven from valerian and poppies. While Gaia and Demeter sleep, he covers the earth with a blanket woven of snow and ice. He is Ullr, the winter god followed by the north wind and snowflakes. In the final quarter of the year, he brings snow and ice, letting the world rest and sleep. In the depths of dreamland, he and his brother of the black scythe entwine in a deathly embrace. He holds a staff entwined with a serpent by the tail, creating dreamscapes where illusion and reality intertwine. Three thousand Oneiroi sing his praises. Within the dreamscape, he is the primordial One. Here, he is the Creator, the embodiment of every virtue. Here, he is the shepherd of humankind, the father of all living things, the ruler of space, and the end of fate. Here, he is the revered head of the Perseus Church, the supreme God of the Trinity, and his incarnations dwell among his followers. Let us praise this god of dreams! For the bodies of all the supernatural are filled with the radiant blood of Hypnos! Theme: Those who would wear the crown must bear its weight.
