Why Is This Lazy Office Worker Like This?

My new story, How Do You Get Back Together with an Ex Who Wants to Become a Monk?, is now out. Please add it to your reading list~ The main story is complete~ Feel free to dive in if you’ve been waiting for it to build up. There’ll be some wonderful bonus chapters~ Yanagi Nako is a laid-back office worker. What are the hallmarks of an office worker? No temper, able to roll with the punches, and no joy in life. After three to five years of being ground down by her boss and her working environment, Lin Jianai instinctively learned to slack off within the limits of her job responsibilities and calmly deal with a whole series of useless idiots who couldn’t do their jobs. Even after becoming Yanagi Nako, and even after becoming the twin sister of a sports anime’s male supporting character, she didn’t feel particularly strongly about anything. That is, until she realized that the Rikkai High tennis club she’d joined by chance in her second year was last year’s national champion and a perennial Kanto tournament champion. In other words, it was the most cutthroat place in all of Japan. When an office worker who refuses to work overtime and just wants to lie flat runs into the king of overachievers; when a content-to-drift-along couch potato joins a tennis club that loudly declares, “Rikkai will win the national championship three years in a row, without a single weakness!” Nako sticks to the following principles: The captain plays tennis, I nap at my desk; The Emperor lifts his iron fist, I throw a tantrum; The strategist takes notes, I chat away; The time-honored traditions of the club. (Smile.) But the strategist’s hand trembles as he takes notes. “Why is this girl so fast at processing data?!” Maybe try VLOOKUP and pivot tables. They reduce repetitive work and make sure you leave on time. When the little seaweed can’t control his high blood pressure, the poker-faced Emperor raises his iron fist in the name of order. Nako stretches out her hand like E’kang: “He needs counseling! Counseling! You can’t raise a kid like that!” Later... Later, the Rikkai tennis club got used to it. A chaotic daily life, with the heroine adored by everyone. At the same time, they force her to develop a motherly heart. You treat me like your daughter, and I treat you like my sons; we’re all each other’s parents, each in our own way. There’s also a side plot about her career in the entertainment industry. This is a self-indulgent fantasy based on the author’s own office-worker experience. Unless something unexpected comes up, updates are every other day, with extra chapters on weekends. The heroine is seventeen at the start. I’ve moved the middle school storyline to high school. The male lead is the great Atobe. Romance isn’t a major focus. The heroine focuses on personal growth, cherishes her bonds with those around her, and loves life. I swear on my head that I won’t abandon this story. If any chapter you read is filled with resentment, that’s just the dark energy naturally emanating from the author, who is an office worker... Theme: Live for what you love!
