The Zombie Novel's Male Lead Is Acting Strange [Reborn]

Lin Konglu transmigrates into an apocalyptic novel as a useless cannon-fodder character, joining his ex-boyfriend's team to get free food, shelter, and protection. His ex-boyfriend is the novel's male lead: cold and taciturn, with a vicious long blade that takes down zombies one at a time. When he turns and sees Lin Konglu, his former boyfriend, his gaze grows even colder. Lin Konglu nervously decides not to provoke him. But at night, the other man suddenly has bloodshot eyes and clings tightly to him. He even catches a rabbit and offers it to Lin Konglu, stammering, "Baby, zombie, flesh, eat." Lin Konglu: "!!?" Later, Lin Konglu discovers that the male lead actually has a split personality: cold by day, clingy at night, and always convinced he's a zombie. Later still, he realizes that the male lead isn't the only one acting strangely. Somehow, Lin Konglu is pregnant. When the male lead finds out, both personalities suddenly have bloodshot eyes, taking turns interrogating him about who the baby's father is. Lin Konglu: ... Lin Konglu: Does it matter who it is? The kid will call you Dad either way. Both personalities: ...I wasn't going to fight over it, but he said the kid would call me Dad. Doesn't that mean he'll marry me? Note: 1. Split-personality gong x pretty, chuuni shou 2. The baby is the gong's, unconventional male pregnancy 3. When Li Chanxiu fell on hard times, he married into a military family on the border. As the Crown Prince's only child, he and his father were placed under house arrest from the moment he was born. To survive, he dressed as a girl and hid his gender from a young age. Later, through his father's schemes, he was sent away from the capital in exile. At first, marrying Pei Shen was just a temporary measure. He thought the man was quiet, had been injured and lost his memory, and was probably honest, simple, and easy to fool. He could use him to conceal his identity, then leave once his father's former subordinates came looking for him and get on with his plans. Who knew that after they married, the man would be neither honest nor simple? He kept him close all day like a precious bowl of meat, and before long he was impossible to fool. His gaze grew darker by the day, like a wolf that hadn't eaten in ages. * Pei Shen, Heir to the Prince of Yan, fought the enemy in the north with all the boldness of youth. Then, after one careless mistake, he was badly injured, lost his memory, and ended up in a remote northwestern border town. Once his memories return, he discovers that not only is he married, he's also shamefully enamored with the charms of a beauty, completely under the thumb of his gentle, pretty little wife. Pei Shen: ... * Before long, foreign enemies invade and refugees flood the roads. The Crown Prince, once placed under house arrest, raises an army in the southwest. The court sends an urgent order commanding the Heir to the Prince of Yan to put down the rebellion. Pei Shen hesitantly lies to his little wife: "We're out of food at home. While I'm on leave, I'll be away for a few days to sell some furs and help cover our expenses." Li Chanxiu, who's also about to run out of excuses: "...All right. I'll go back to my parents' home too and borrow some money and grain to tide us over." They both breathe a sigh of relief. Two months later... Pei Shen leads his army into a standoff against the rebels. After several rounds of battle, neither side gains the upper hand. Then the commanders of both armies ride to the front lines... Li Chanxiu falls silent. The cold-faced Heir to the Prince of Yan, sitting astride a fine steed across the field, looks a lot like her poor husband who went away to sell furs to help cover the household expenses. Seeing the rebel commander in crimson robes and silver armor, sitting astride a horse with a graceful bearing and refined features, Pei Shen also falls silent. If he's not mistaken, the other man looks a lot like his gentle, pretty, virtuous wife who went back to her parents' home to borrow money and grain.
