The Bodhisattva Saves the Fierce God

[A rule-breaking female menace x a male bodhisattva who lives by the book]

When the newly crowned top scholar rode through the streets, the noblewomen of Bianling immediately turned their attention to him. They heard he had spent three years in quiet seclusion at a Buddhist temple.

The cool, otherworldly immortal in the storybooks, untouched by the mortal world, the flower atop a high peak. Now that was a face worth looking at.

At their gatherings, the noblewomen all asked how to win over the flower atop the high peak.

Xie Jiao sat in a corner, head down, drinking a whole jar of vinegar.

Bah! The little top scholar had enchanted every woman in Bianling. She'd thought she was the only one.

And these people didn't understand him at all. A flower on a high peak? What a trite description.

"Crash!" Her wine cup hit the floor.

Everyone jumped and looked over.

"Xie Jiao, why did you smash your cup?"

"Who upset you?"

Xie Jiao pointed indiscriminately at everyone present.

Everyone: "...?"

Who would be foolish enough to upset you?

"A flower on a high peak? What an awful thing to call him." Xie Jiao's eyelids drooped, her head swimming as she recalled the man's face. She drawled, "With a face like his, he's clearly a male bodhisattva come down to save all living beings."

Later, the male bodhisattva devoted himself to the female menace, and everyone in Bianling rejoiced.

They all thought at last someone could keep this troublemaker in line. But after the two went to the northern lands, the Bianling hooligan gang gained a new member.

The little hooligan was said to have inherited Xie Jiao's entire legacy. With the Shen and Xie families backing him, he spent his childhood chasing cats and walking birds instead of studying, and was utterly lawless.

Everyone hoped someone would finally rein him in. Instead, they got someone even more indulgent than Shen Sui.

Well, it looks like the streets of Bianling are occupied by the Xie family's hooligan mother and child again today.

One-line summary: A childhood-friends everyday romance. Xie Jiao is disliked by cats and dogs alike, so how did she manage to take the male bodhisattva home?

#The kid is determined to win his wife over. Su Muwan fears men but not dogs, so is that why the puppy carried her home?

Reading guide:

1. Volume one is about childhood friends with mutual unrequited crushes. Volume two is about married life and raising a child, with the child falling in love and the parents' romance too (not really).

2. This story is all about letting the kid enjoy an easy, sweet romance and experience what it's like to raise a child. The two grown-up kids are clearly present throughout.

3. A romance-focused sweet story with little plot, just pure fluff.
