The ANG team interview room.
The academy player with the ID Cat points indignantly at someone lounging on the sofa and chewing gum.
"When I played solo against her, she couldn't even find Draven's axes. Why does she get to stay?!"
The team manager glances over calmly and says, "Oh. Sure, she's pretty bad at Draven, but that doesn't change the fact that she's interviewing for the jungle position."
The jungle position?!
A woman applying to be a jungler? In this day and age?!
The public isn't optimistic about ANG's performance in the new season. With two new players joining at once, the team has essentially been overhauled, and plenty of fans jump ship.
Then ANG wins the spring split, and the fans all come crawling back.
In the post-match MVP interview, the host asks a pointed question: "Lang, do you think there are so few women in the league because men are a little better at gaming?"
Jiang Lang raises an eyebrow and leans toward the microphone. "I think there are so few female players because they're all busy studying hard."
"But I'm different. I failed all seven subjects, so I can only make a living in esports."
She says it with such confidence that the host is left speechless.
