At the suggestion of readers, I changed the title to something that sounds a little more appealing.

Second, shortly after you pour your heart out to Dazai, he defects to the enemy side because his friend died.

Third, using your ability makes you cough up blood every now and then. And after you die, some infamous, unnamed brain parasite uses your body to do terrible things.

Fourth, you keep stepping on landmines in high-risk worlds, and your life is in danger every second.

Immersion is a large-scale, all-in-one, full-dive RPG that has recently taken the internet by storm. Just as its name suggests, it can use players' scanned data to create the most realistic worlds, allowing them to feel as if they are truly inside the game.

The worlds are divided into five difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, Hard, Nightmare, and Hell. There are countless worlds at each level, and supposedly no one has ever drawn the exact same world twice. Access to the game is granted by scanning a citizen's ID after they sign up, with places allocated randomly. Since the closed beta began, more than a million players have taken part.

The game officials have publicly stated that a place drawn when registering for Immersion is bound to the player's citizen ID and cannot be transferred or sold.

Ji Yanchi is the chosen one in the eyes of others, a bona fide lucky star. But he suffers a spectacular setback in Immersion, starting out with "0 luck." In a dungeon on Easy mode, supposedly intended for beginners, he manages to achieve a [Bad Ending] in just seven days, setting the record for the fastest BE in history.

This triggers Immersion's first cross-world chain quest.

[Reader's Guide]

1. The cover features a commissioned illustration of the female lead (the full image can be found by searching for Dong Shuyi Zhao on a certain graveyard site; future commissions will be posted there too). This is an unconventional power fantasy with a strong female lead. The characters' moral alignment is Chaotic Good, and the protagonist is an INFJ.

2. This is not a multiple-love-interest story. The pairing is set: Osamu Dazai. Both the plot and romance develop slowly. I promise not to vilify any original characters and will do my best to stay faithful to canon.

3. This story draws on Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Demon Slayer, Bungo Stray Dogs, Jujutsu Kaisen, and a little of the web novel Lord of the Mysteries. Madoka Magica and Demon Slayer appear in only a few chapters. There is comradeship, one-sided affection from characters toward the female lead, and familial love.

4. At its core, this is a full-dive game set in a futuristic spacefaring era. There are plenty of foreshadowing clues, and each world contains hints in its setting. Feel free to solve the mysteries!

5. Personal attacks are forbidden. Suggestions are welcome, as are corrections about character personalities. Pure insults are not. If you don't like the relevant settings, please leave on your own. Let's all get along. Thank you!

4. Every Run Has a Happy Ending.

One-line summary: Why is it still a HE if I die?

(Same review as above.)

5. How to Get a HE in a Game With No Walkthrough.

One-line summary: Get good.
