I Took a Wolf Cub as My Wife

Novel blurb:

The role of Shadow Fiend is mysterious and unfathomable. For years, the Shadow Fiend has been the most loyal dog at the Immortal Lord's side. When people speak of Shadow Fiends, the first things that come to mind are their ability to appear and disappear without a trace, their ruthlessness, and the fact that they are shadows without feelings of their own.

People in the immortal realm may not recognize the Immortal Lord's face, but there is no one who would fail to recognize the Shadow Fiend in black, as insubstantial as a shadow. The Shadow Fiend's appearance signifies the Immortal Lord's presence.

Xie Yuling has been the Immortal Lord for many years, yet has never found a Shadow Fiend he likes. He thinks he will keep going it alone, enjoying the ease of being by himself, until he meets an injured wolf cub.

Huai Feng is covered in wounds, his dark eyes full of despair and the breath of death. Moved by the sorrow emanating from him, Xie Yuling reaches out his "noble" hand to the puppy.
