The Cat I Picked Up Is a Big Shot

The bullied little cat demon, Xian Li, left home after declaring on the mountain, "Don't look down on a poor young man!" But the moment he reached the city, spirit handlers chased him until he was yowling because he had no legal papers.

He would just have to change his plans.

The tabby curled up under the blankets and angrily crossed out "rule human society," replacing it with "live a happy life as a cat."

But barely two days after making this grand resolution, the little tabby brought home an injured white cat.

What else could he do? He'd have to turn on the charm and earn enough to support himself and this useless little white cat.

Xian Li never expected that when his awful relatives from back home came to drag him back, the white cat would shove the door open and slam them against it so hard they couldn't even pry themselves loose.

"Spirit handler," the white cat said coldly. "Show me your valid identification, meow."

Guan Qun, the eldest young master of a family of spirit handlers, never imagined that while chasing an unregistered cat demon, his bloodline would suddenly awaken and turn him into a Mengji cub... a little white cat.

Before the little white cat had even gotten used to his new body, a passing tabby picked him up and took him home.

"I'll protect you from now on," the little tabby Xian Li said earnestly.

The white cat nodded coolly, then swatted away an evil spirit drooling over the little cat demon.

This little cat demon has it pretty rough. I should help him if I can.

Guan Qun made up his mind, then tripped over his own feet because he wasn't used to his body and went flying.

But first... he had to learn how to walk.

The white cat lay coolly on the ground and shared this important observation.

Cold, powerful cat shifter top × cheerful little kitty bottom

The top is a kitten at first, but later turns back into a human. The bottom can freely switch between human and cat forms.

A light, sweet little story with a happy ending.

The completed novel in the same series is Have You Seen My Fox? It features human elite Ji Shaozhou as the top and nine-tailed fox Tu Ying as the bottom. Check my author page.

My new novel, Retired Life in a Supernatural World, is currently updating. Check my author page.

Yuan Ye is a second-generation apocalypse kid.

Not because his parents were especially miserable, but because he was born into the second generation after the zombie outbreak.

More than twenty years after the outbreak, Yuan Ye, the strongest ability user, died in the final battle to fight back against the zombies. He closed his eyes, opened them again, and woke up in a haunted house in a supernatural world.

After twenty years in the apocalypse, the conveniences and comforts of modern society were things he'd only heard about in stories.

At that very moment, Yuan Ye looked up at the flickering lights, listened to the speakers shrieking like ghosts, and watched blood stream from the faucet. He was deeply moved.

"So this is modern society?" Yuan Ye reverently scooped up some bloody water and exclaimed, "What a magnificent invention!"

The evil ghosts filling the haunted house: That's not what this is!!!

Whether it was or not, Yuan Ye decided that it was. From then on, he got to enjoy the modern lifestyle he'd always wanted: growing cabbages with human heads, cleaning oil paintings of figures weeping blood, and watching TV shows about fierce ghosts crawling around.

Yuan Ye: The aesthetic of this world is a little strange... but modern society is amazing!

Then one day, a flash flood swept a coffin containing a living person to the door of his mansion, where he'd been stewing fierce ghosts.

A normal person would have called the police. But in the zombie world, people were cremated on the spot, and there was no culture of funerals. After careful observation, Yuan Ye concluded that the man had unusual taste in bedding, so he kindly hauled him home.

The local man with the strange aesthetic was called Shi Zhuoguang, the sixty-second-generation ghost hunter of the Shi family. The number alone was enough to show that his life was sure to be even more melodramatic than Yuan Ye's.

Shi Zhuoguang's tragic backstory: he was the eldest son, but had no spiritual power, while his twin younger brother was a once-in-a-generation genius.

So the powerless eldest son grew up despised and neglected. Later, when his younger brother disappeared, Shi Zhuoguang took on the duty of a ghost hunter at the cost of his own lifespan. He became a man who lived for others, burning away his life again and again.

Yet for some reason, after saving so many people, he became someone everyone both feared and hated.

Fate knew why.

This world, where ghosts roamed day and night, was on the brink of ruin. Shi Zhuoguang had been born to die.

Fate decreed that he would be born into hatred, live in pain, and be unable to look away as evil spirits murdered people. Again and again, he would offer his blood and burn his bones, until his final drop of blood dried up and he became the most terrifying ghost in the world.

According to fate, either he would become a sin-ridden evil spirit and lead the whole world into the abyss of annihilation, or his glorious younger brother would destroy him, and his death would become the nourishment from which the world was reborn.

Then Yuan Ye said he chose option C.

That's right, Yuan Ye rescued Shi Zhuoguang on his way to becoming the Ghost King and brought him home.

A guileless, sheltered, world-saving bottom who can really fight × a despised young master and ghost hunter as the top

Yuan Ye is a formidable bottom. Please don't mix up who's top and who's bottom. Consider this your bolded warning.

Basically, it's the story of an ability-wielding savior who spent his whole life fighting zombies finally enjoying the wonderful, if strange, modern world, while healing a lonely young master nobody wants.

Theme: Create a better life through tireless effort.
