Upcoming novel: [Hi, My Inheritance]
Sorry, the outline is a bit of a mess and I can't get the story flowing, so I'm rewriting the whole thing.
The biggest chatterbox and the quietest person in the whole league are both on TEV. Somehow, the two of them have become inseparable best friends.
After TEV fought its way through the league and drew attention, someone dug up a personal interview with Su Yi, and rumors started that TEV's best-friend act was all for show.
"Xiao Su, can I ask you a personal question?"
The cool guy, expressionless in front of the camera, nodded.
"Have you made any friends while filming the show?"
Su Yi: "Feng Yun."
"What are your standards for making friends?"
Su Yi: "Someone who doesn't talk much."
The moment Yang Lin saw the clip, he stormed into Su Yi's bedroom. Without even waiting for him to finish changing, he cornered him by the bed.
"What does that mean? Your standard for making friends is someone who doesn't talk much, so what am I? Does talking a lot mean I'm not your friend? From the youth training camp until now, have you just been pretending we're close?"
Yang Lin was desperate for an explanation. It didn't even occur to him that what he was saying sounded less like a friend and more like a lover demanding a label.
Su Yi looked down at him without saying a word.
Yang Lin kept going. "You, Su Yi, you know everyone loves me, and you still tricked me. Back at the youth training camp, so many people were hitting on me, and my in-game friends list was full. But I chose you. If I'd known, I never would've hung out with a blockhead like you..."
Su Yi cut him off, his voice low. "If you don't want to hang out with me, then who do you want to hang out with?"
Yang Lin muttered, "What's it to you? We can each play with whoever we want. You, a Clash Lane player, managed to befriend me, a Farm Lane player, and you don't even know how to appreciate it. No wonder they call you the lonely, isolated Clash Lane guy. I'll show you that you only realize what you had was wonderful after you lose it."
Su Yi laughed at Yang Lin's antics.
Yang Lin glared at him. "What's so funny?"
Su Yi replied unhurriedly, "My standard for making friends is someone who doesn't talk much. But that's not my standard for dating."
Maybe Su Yi had said so many words all at once that Yang Lin hadn't processed them. He asked, looking bewildered, "What's your standard for dating?"
Su Yi: "Someone who talks a lot."
The cheerful, sunny, talkative marksman bottom x the taciturn, sharp-tongued, bking Clash Lane player top
I'd brave hell and high water for you, thinking you were my friend, while you wanted to be my boyfriend.
* Game: Honor of Kings. Very little gameplay content.
* The first half is about life at the youth training camp, the second half about life on the team.
* Romance-focused short story.
Upcoming novel: Hi, My Inheritance
Blurb:
In his previous life, Yan Yu died on the way to being acknowledged by his wealthy birth family.
Only after his death did Yan Yu learn that he was a minor character in a novel. A single line in the story, saying the real young master died in a car accident, had sealed his fate.
The fake young master was the novel's darling, loved by everyone.
Let them love him. Whether they lived or died for him had nothing to do with Yan Yu.
"Young Master Yan, this is the will left to you by your parents."
Wait, don't love him just yet. Yan Yu picked up the document and stared at it in disbelief. "You want me to marry for an alliance? What about the inheritance?"
"Your parents left their entire estate to Young Master Li."
Yan Yu: Guess I'll just die, then.
Wait a minute. Yan Yu heard that the person he was supposed to marry was sickly, gasping for breath after every few steps, and the only son of a wealthy family.
Wasn't that inheritance practically his already?
Yan Yu: I'm not dying after all.
Duan Bohuai had been raised outside the Duan family's care. As the only direct-line heir, he grew up in poor health and couldn't hold the family together on his own. The Duan family's collateral relatives seized the opportunity and gradually sidelined the direct line.
Duan Bohuai didn't learn he was getting married until the wedding day. When he returned to the bridal suite and opened the door, a young man with a bright smile and an innocent heart came out to greet him.
Yan Yu's eyes lit up when he saw Duan Bohuai. "Hi, my inheritance."
As the heirlo-, ahem, as Duan Bohuai's partner, Yan Yu took on the responsibility of caring for his husband.
If he got out of breath after every few steps, then he simply wouldn't walk.
Yan Yu got Duan Bohuai a wheelchair, and had him use it everywhere, even to and from work.
Seeing Duan Bohuai in a wheelchair, the Duan family's collateral relatives assumed his illness had worsened and brazenly sped up their efforts to seize control.
Duan Bohuai seized the opportunity to gather evidence against them.
Yan Yu personally fed Duan Bohuai.
The collateral relatives assumed Duan Bohuai didn't have long to live and began conspiring with the company's board members to prepare for the next board meeting.
Duan Bohuai began closing in and striking back.
Yan Yu diligently took care of Duan Bohuai's daily needs, hoping that after he died, the inheritance would all be left to him.
But the more he cared for Duan Bohuai, the more something seemed off. Feeling the other man's abs, he thought, Why does he seem to be getting stronger and stronger?
One day, Duan Bohuai picked Yan Yu up from the sofa, where he'd fallen asleep.
Yan Yu opened his eyes blearily. "You're not out of breath anymore?"
Duan Bohuai carried him upstairs. "You want to hear me pant?"
Yan Yu nodded. "I do."
If Duan Bohuai was panting, that meant Yan Yu would soon get his inheritance.
Then the two of them got drunk and slept together.
Remembering the few times Duan Bohuai had panted in his ear the night before, Yan Yu lay on the bed, utterly despairing. Guess I'll just die, then.
Theme: Working together to win the championship
Sister, please give me one more word. I'm dying. Please, sister. I feel like there are ants crawling on me. I feel like I'm shaking all over. I can't breathe. Please, sister, please give me one more word. Just one word. I'll never touch it again. Really, just one word. I swear I'll never touch this thing again. I really can't bear it anymore.
