Lost in Hong Kong [Hong Kong Noir]

Wild, street-smart gangster x scheming heiress

Hong Kong style / undercover / mutual salvation

P.S. Both the heroine and hero are good people.

In 1990, Kowloon Walled City had yet to be demolished. Every day, planes from Kai Tak Airport narrowly skimmed over the dense rows of slum buildings in the housing estates, but none ever crashed.

Qiao Li, the daughter of a mainland prostitute in Kowloon City, was born with a pure and lovely face, but was in fact a natural-born villain: cold, selfish, and vindictive.

In a rare fit of kindness, she put on an act at her doorway and saved a rich young master in distress, who was being hunted by thugs. The price was a kiss.

There was no romantic tale of a Cinderella marrying a prince. Instead, the lofty flower fell from her pedestal, and Qiao Li simply usurped her place and used the opportunity to climb the ladder.
