The daughter of the Great General Jingyuan has returned to the capital!
Unlike the fierce, barbarian frontier women people imagined, Qin Nian has a face of breathtaking beauty. Her skin is so delicate and fair it outshines a peeled egg, and her waist is so slender and supple she seems like a riverbank reed. Always smiling softly, with graceful manners, she quickly becomes a highly sought-after marriage prospect among the capital's noble families.
Though he has no idea how his daughter managed to win so many people's affection, Qin Guanyuan is secretly delighted. He goes to the martial arts grounds to ask her what she thinks.
Qin Nian, focused on nothing else, draws a bow weighing ten shi and hits the target ten times out of ten. "Father, pick whoever you like. Preferably someone a little stupid."
In her previous life, she was deceived by Xie Chengjing's gentle, harmless-looking, peerlessly refined appearance. She loved him recklessly for her entire life, schemed desperately to marry him, and her father and brothers died on the frontier supporting his bid for the throne. After Xie Chengjing ascended the throne, he made the woman he cherished his empress. Qin Nian's love withered away in the cold palace, and she ended her miserable life.
Reborn, all she wants is to keep a low profile, live peacefully with her father and brothers, and never marry Xie Chengjing again.
The reborn Fourth Prince Xie Chengjing only wants to cherish the person in front of him. But Qin Nian, who once had eyes only for him, seems like a different person now and won't spare him a glance.
He gives up his former patience and schemes, obtains an imperial decree betrothing them, and even resorts to underhanded means to make her carry his child. He wants to give her the greatest honor, but instead receives news that she has burned herself to death.
Unwilling to believe this ending, he searches for her desperately for two years. When he sees her again, it is among the scenery of Jiangnan, in the season of falling blossoms. Qin Nian stands smiling like a flower with another man, while a little snowball whose features resemble his own by seven-tenths calls the man "Daddy" over and over in a sweet, affectionate voice.
The young emperor, who rose from mountains of corpses and the tides of imperial power, feels darkness descend before his eyes. This vast realm of a thousand miles, resplendent with verdant hills and scarlet blooms, has all lost its color.
1. There will be a dog and misunderstandings, followed by a groveling pursuit to win her back.
2. Both are virgins, one-on-one, no changing the male lead, happy ending.
3. This is an alternate world, so the historical setting is all over the place.
Theme: Repay sincerity with sincerity.
