Blurb for my new novel, Caught in the Foolish Beauty's Trap, at the end. First, here's the blurb for this novel:
[Dual secret identities, marriage first and love later, the Crown Prince falls hard, one couple, mutual devotion, happy ending]
Mu Yiguang, daughter of a great general, and Lu Xiuheng, the Crown Prince, are a married couple in name only, wed by imperial decree. Each of them has someone else in their heart.
After an accident leaves her with amnesia, she mistakes the Crown Prince for the man she used to love and firmly believes she has married for love. She starts causing trouble in the Eastern Palace.
The current Crown Prince is cold by nature, heartless, and ruthless. Everyone in the capital keeps their distance from him. Only his amnesiac Crown Princess isn't afraid of him. Instead, she is clingy, coquettish, and troublesome.
Lu Xiuheng needs the Mu family's support and must also play the part of a loving husband in public, so he lets her do as she pleases.
Until one day, Mu Yiguang hears a few rumors and realizes that something seems wrong.
The troublemaker suddenly stops clinging to him. Lu Xiuheng sits alone in his study all night, punishes a group of palace attendants for spreading gossip, then humbles himself and goes to find her in person.
He kisses away the tears at the corner of Mu Yiguang's eyes and soothes her in a low voice. "I have never had anyone else. There's only you."
His long, pale fingers, each joint distinct, gently smooth her hair at the temples. Those hands wield power unchecked in court, deciding who lives and dies, but now they are careful and tender, as if he were holding fragile crystal, cherishing her with the utmost care.
Mu Yiguang presses her advantage. "Then have you liked me for a very, very long time?"
Lu Xiuheng's gaze darkens slightly, but he answers without betraying a thing. "Of course."
Bonus scene:
Recently, someone secretly reported to the emperor that the Crown Princess had been unchaste before marriage and had an illicit affair. The emperor ordered a search, and sure enough, they found a thick stack of letters in the Crown Princess's bedchamber.
As everyone exchanged uncertain glances and the Crown Princess hesitated, the Crown Prince strode forward, snatched the letters away, and insisted, "They're mine."
Everyone lowered their heads, unable to bear watching, thinking the jade crown on the Crown Prince's head looked especially green today.
Lu Xiuheng clenched his jaw and glanced at the handwriting on the letters. The usually calculating, composed Crown Prince looked as if he might be delighted. "These really are mine!"
Notes:
1. Sweet romance, marriage first and love later, one couple, mutual devotion.
2. The woman her mistaken identity leads her to believe in is a real person. After the leads reunite for certain reasons, they don't recognize each other.
3. A fictional setting inspired by the Ming dynasty, very loosely.
Below is the blurb for my new novel, Caught in the Foolish Beauty's Trap. Please add it to your reading list~~
To find a good marriage match, Li Ci began living with her maternal grandfather, a great scholar of the age, at fourteen. She was deeply beloved there.
Her grandfather and parents were in perfect agreement about her marriage: a man of virtue and talent from a poor family who would be willing to marry into hers would be ideal.
Later, a distant cousin came to the household as a visiting student. He was refined and handsome, exceptionally talented, and dirt poor, the perfect match for their requirements.
Li Ci was delighted and paid him special attention, treating him with sweet and thoughtful care. Unfortunately, she only learned later that he was the heir of the prestigious Duke of Xin's household. She was dejected for two days, then set her sights on his classmates instead.
-
Xie Zhenchuan, heir of the Duke of Xin's household, concealed his identity and traveled far away to study at the Wang family in Yuyao. Unexpectedly, the family's young lady became attached to him.
Cousin Li Ci was as beautiful as a celestial maiden, but naive and foolish. Her love was too obvious, and she had even learned to play hard to get and use one diversion to cover another. Xie Zhenchuan grew tired of her attentions. After politely turning her down, he promised to keep an eye out for a suitable match for her.
After being rejected, Li Ci felt no regret at all. She happily agreed, hoping her cousin would help her find a good husband.
But her cousin didn't take the matter seriously and repeatedly put her off. Li Ci sympathized with how hard he worked at his studies and went looking for someone herself.
The day before the Lantern Festival, Li Ci came to visit. Xie Zhenchuan finally began to take her feelings seriously, only to see her eating the sweet osmanthus taro dessert he had given her while counting on her fingers and listing his classmates' qualities: "Young Master Zhang is gifted but poor, so he'd make a good husband, except his looks are lacking. Young Master He is handsome and talented, but unfortunately his family is rich. Only Young Master Cheng is handsome, well-read, and poor. I wonder if he'd be willing to marry into my family?"
Bonus scene:
Xie Zhenchuan, heir of the Duke of Xin's household, was handsome, intelligent, and exceptionally talented. His parents had high hopes for him, and his future wife was surely meant to be a noble lady from a family of equal standing.
But his standards kept dropping, lower and lower, until at last the Duke of Xin, holding a broom, scolded him in exasperation: "If you dare marry into her family and change your surname, I'll break your legs!"
Notes: Fictional setting; one couple, mutual devotion; may contain a little sweetness, angst, and a groveling pursuit.
Theme: Don't waste the good times.
Liar, didn't you say it would be finished at the end of the month? I'm so speechless.
Today is the 28th for Poppy, and she has stopped updating for ten days. If she doesn't come out, she will get moldy! ! ! ! !
If you don't write anymore, I'm afraid you'll forget the plot (face covering) You can't stop writing. If you stop writing for a long time, you'll basically give up.
Next time, remember to ask for leave in time. Spread flowers. Spread flowers. Spread flowers.
I will never buy unfinished novels in the future. I spent money and can't wait for the ending.
Um,,, let's just say, wouldn't it be nice to finish the update earlier and have a holiday?
What is the update frequency? I don't understand.
How long is this period of time? Poppy! ! ! !
No update again! ! ! ! ! No leave request note yet! ! ! ! !
The author's writing is very good, but the forgery of blood cutting in the end is too fake. It just deceives people into thinking they are fools. There is really no need to write like this [covering face and laughing]
