I Really Wasn't Trying to Dodge the Bill

[Completed]

Age gap / marriage before love / refined, villainous old fox

Qin Yin happened to get her hands on a ticket for a top-tier cruise ship and stumbled into a lavish banquet hall.

Amid the clinking of glasses, a man sat among the guests, his expression cool and detached. His long fingers gently swirled his wineglass, amber liquor gathering in the dim yellow light before shattering into ripples, carefree and elegant.

After a wild night with a stranger, Qin Yin realized she'd gotten involved with a powerful man in Jing City whom everyone feared, and quietly ran away.

Their social circles were worlds apart anyway. Surely he wouldn't come after her to settle the score!!

-

Until one day, Qin Yin was suddenly told that her mother was the youngest daughter of a wealthy family in Jing City, long lost from home.

Her life turned upside down. Not only did she come into a fortune, she also had an arranged marriage waiting for her.

Qin Yin happily went to the blind date, fully intending to reject the match.

But when she saw who it was, she froze on the spot, wanting only to run away.

Behind the door, the man raised his slightly hooded eyes, a smile playing on his lips, as if he'd long since forgotten that reckless night.

Yet the next moment, he rose calmly and walked over without hurry, speaking in a slow, measured voice.

"Miss Qin, you were much bolder that night than you are now."

-

Unable to wriggle out of it, Qin Yin married him in a flash. Outsiders all thought theirs was a marriage of convenience that would fall apart sooner or later.

One day, Qin Yin left a note and silently walked out with her luggage.

In the bitter winter cold, he set aside his work and found her, snow on his shoulders and ice in his hands.

His gaze grew heavy, but he let out the faintest sigh.

"Qin Yin, I married you with no intention of ever getting divorced."

-

He didn't believe in fate.

Until she came into his life.
