Green Mushrooms and Childhood Sweethearts

Jiang Xun, a mushroom who had cultivated human form, transmigrated into a book. All he remembered was that he was a fake young master. One day, the real young master would come back, break his legs, and throw him into the sea.

Jiang Xun nervously patted his chest. Good thing mushrooms float on their own when you toss them in water!

On his first day after transmigrating into a book, three-year-old Jiang Xun burrowed his head under the pillow and earnestly explained, "I not your baby, I mushroom!"

His mother patted his "cap" and said, "I know. Little mushrooms have to get up too."

On Day N after transmigrating into a book, Jiang Xun ran away from home and was picking up trash in the park when he found a filthy little boy. He returned home with a full haul.

To Jiang Xun, Qu Jialin was the big brother he loved and trusted most. When they were little, Qu Jialin's name was harder to write than his, and he would finish off the hated bell peppers and awful broccoli. Once they grew up, he helped Jiang Xun with his homework and chased away all his annoying suitors.

Until one day, when they were grown, Jiang Xun opened the door to Qu Jialin's safe. Inside were the handkerchief Jiang Xun had used to wipe his face as a child, preschool crafts, love poems he'd copied as a teenager, Valentine's Day flowers...

Jiang Xun slammed the door shut. When he turned around, he saw Qu Jialin standing there. He had no idea how long he'd been there. Startled, Jiang Xun took half a step back, looked up, and met his deep gaze.
