Beneath the Skin

A new guy joined Team Six. Not only was he handsome, he was in great shape, too. He just seemed cold and hard to get along with.

When the icy-sharp Shi Xi saw Gu Shaohui, his indifferent gaze shifted slightly.

When Gu Shaohui first heard of Shi Xi, he thought the guy was some big shot sent down from above to make his life difficult.

But whether he was sent from above didn't matter. In the end, Shi Xi became his boss.

Shi Xi was an excellent artist. Um, the kind who drew portraits of the dead when their faces had been badly disfigured. His drawings were even more useful than computer-generated facial reconstructions.

Gu Shaohui joked that he should become a mortician.

Shi Xi turned around and gave him a black-and-white portrait...

Gu Shaohui was mad about it for half an hour, then went out and had it framed after work.

Team Six's three great unsolved mysteries:

Why can't Gu Shaohui, who transferred from the Special Operations Department, beat Shi Xi?

Is the human skeleton in Shi Xi's home real or fake?

Why does Shi Xi only draw black-and-white portraits?
