1.

During lunch break in her second year of high school, Xia Yu passes the music room.

She is drawn in by the piano music coming from inside.

She opens the door.

A boy is holding up a cat and scolding it, accusing it of ruining his workbook.

When the door opens, the boy and the cat turn to look at her.

"Were you playing the piano just now?" Xia Yu asks.

"No."

The boy puts the cat down and says lazily, "The cat was playing."

2.

The school has recently launched a "Civility Shirts" campaign to support students in need.

A clothing factory provides plain white T-shirts.

The students decorate them with their own designs.

When the event ends and two shirts are placed side by side, they catch everyone's attention.

Xia Yu draws a girl holding a cat.

Jian Le draws a cat.

There is nothing unusual about the drawings on their own, but when they're placed together, a sharp-eyed student realizes they drew the same cat. The atmosphere instantly turns tense, and some students secretly grin as they ship the two of them.

Some time later.

A particularly eye-catching name appears in the class group chat.

Class rep: The break is over tomorrow. Remember to turn in your homework. @Everyone

Classmate: Got it.

Xia Yu: Got it.

Xia Yu's cat: Got it.

3.

One day, Jian Le gets jealous.

The catlike boy, sprawled lazily across the desk, doesn't even want to lift his head.

Jian Le says, "Go find some other cat."

Xia Yu sighs.

She gets up to leave.

Jian Le sits up straight the next moment. "...You actually went?!"
