The second male lead gets the girl. This time, the broken mirror stays broken.
Those who betray a devoted heart should swallow ten thousand silver needles.
[1] Chen Chang and Zhou Xinyi had known each other for twenty years. Childhood sweethearts who grew up together, they were the picture of happiness and fulfillment, envied by everyone.
On the eve of their wedding, Chen Chang accidentally opened her boyfriend's secret QQ account and learned that he had a beloved woman he could never have.
At home, she found a locked box. Inside was a packet of sunflower seeds, with the name of his beloved written on it. They were meant for her.
She remembered Zhou Xinyi planting them himself in the sunshine while she shaded him and brought him water, laughing that he was a modern-day Tao Yuanming.
It turned out that the seeds, and all his romantic gestures, had been meant for someone else.
The image in her mind of the gentle, thoughtful, handsome Mr. Zhou crumbled bit by bit, shattering into countless tiny fragments.
He was the man she had loved without hesitation for over twenty years.
Chen Chang finally woke up and cut off every tie to their past.
Zhou Xinyi took the earliest flight and waited for her in the rain all night.
All he got in return was another man's lazy, contemptuous remark: "She told you to get lost. Didn't you hear her?"
[2]
After Gu Si repeatedly sabotaged Zhou Xinyi's business, Chen Chang could no longer sit still. She went to thank the kind stranger who had stood up for her.
At the mouth of an alley, she said sincerely, "Thank you for helping me."
"Don't mention it." Gu Si took a deep drag on his cigarette and said with a wicked grin, "I expect a reward."
Chen Chang was taken aback. "What do you want?"
"You." Gu Si ground out his cigarette, fixing her with a deep gaze. "I want you to keep only me in your heart."
[PS: I made a few small changes. I couldn't bear to make the girl suffer too much, so there won't be an LC storyline. Life is hard enough, so the story should be a little sweeter.]
