Typhoon Night [Beijing Circle]

1. The rumors spread everywhere: beautiful women passed through Wen Junsheng's arms like water, each one utterly alluring, and none lasted more than three months.

She knew all about it.

That night, Jing Hua had arranged to attend a banquet with her friends.

Wen Junsheng had drunk himself into a stupor.

Jing Hua watched him from the shadows, studying the sharply defined profile of his face.

It was a typhoon night, with torrential rain pounding down and snapping the power lines.

The room was pitch-black.

Suddenly, someone took Jing Hua's hand.

She looked at him, her palms damp with sweat, and fell into the depths of his eyes.

Wen Junsheng said, "Sorry, I mistook you for someone else."

Just as he let go, Jing Hua grabbed his hand in return.

A flash of lightning revealed her slender, sharply outlined butterfly bones.

When her friends found out, they all said she was crazy, even more reckless than a moth flying into a flame.

Yes, knowing it was doomed to end in nothing, why pretend to be foolish just to be together?

2. A bad beginning may mean there can never be a good ending.

Three years after they broke up, Jing Hua thought that at least she had been his longest-lasting girlfriend.

When they met again, it was another rainy day, and someone else was holding her hand.

She showed no embarrassment, only smiling at him.

But one day, she received a phone call. The voice on the other end was hoarse: "The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas save all living beings. Why won't they save one of their own devotees?"

She enunciated each word, her voice playful. "Are you a devotee now?"

He had no strength left. "I'm your prisoner."
