The Rabbit Must Survive

I'm a rabbit. The kind of rabbit that is a spirit and can take human form. My world is a little weird. I took human form just before the founding of the People's Republic of China, and after its founding, no creatures could become spirits. So I became the last spirit before the founding. My name is Tan Xiu. Spirits need certain conditions to exist. First, they need to cultivate by absorbing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth. But that best method was already a no-go. With industrial development and the arrival of the Age of the End of Dharma (the nation's destiny forcibly suppresses spiritual cultivation), all the spiritual energy turned into air full of CO2, making cultivation impossible. But the rabbit didn't want to die. The rabbit wanted to live. The rabbit had cultivated for a thousand years to become a rabbit spirit, not to die in the Age of the End of Dharma. The rabbit wanted to see the beauty of the vast world. By great good luck, the rabbit encountered the wandering Heavenly Dao. The Heavenly Dao still cherished its favorite, so it chose to bend the rules for the rabbit. It sent him to other worlds to cultivate there. Once he felt he'd cultivated to his limit in a world, or wanted to return, all he had to do was die. But the rabbit was popular, and accidentally made plenty of friends and formed plenty of attachments. The rabbit was also heartless. After all, he was a demon who had cultivated for a thousand years to become a spirit. He'd seen all kinds of people, and left without a backward glance. The ones left behind by other circumstances were the only ones who suffered. The abandoned protagonists: The world can do what it wants, but the rabbit has to live! Contains some OOC. Don't read if that's not for you. Theme: Both love and friendship deserve respect.
