[Detective Conan/ The Sims] The Werewolf Detective's Character Is Too Hard to Play

This was originally supposed to be a Detective Conan fanfic, but I couldn't think of a good idea, so I decided to let loose and add a character from my The Sims game. And so, the blurb below ended up with a mix of Chinese, English, and Japanese elements.

Lin Mingzhi is an ordinary college student, a casual single-player gamer, and a just-about-passable mystery novel enthusiast.

After his university major was changed from psychology, which he had originally applied for, to Japanese, he took it in stride and let himself go. He bought a huge pile of original Japanese mystery novels, planning to work his way through them as he learned the language.

After some time spent studying and reading, he finally remembered the single-player game he used to love.

Lin Mingzhi opened The Sims. The green loading bar crept forward until the game selection screen finally appeared. Looking at the handsome, squint-eyed, blond detective with amber eyes he'd created, William Moriarty, he smiled in satisfaction.

[Appropriate] [Genius] [Perceptive] [Adventurous] [Irresistible], plus the extra trait [Contemplative] gained from his university studies. The blond young man's manners had been polished through and through by his family's upbringing, while his genius's pride was deeply suppressed. But his mind was constantly driven to think and deduce by his unceasingly sharp awareness of his surroundings. His adventurous instincts pushed him to stand out, drawing the attention of others in a way he couldn't explain.

These traits finally came together in his mind to form the image of a brilliant detective, elegant and charming on the outside, but oddly withdrawn and repressed in personality.

But this game character, whom Lin Mingzhi had intended to make a detective, took a path completely opposite to that of a detective because of another trait.

He stared at the species field with a complicated, bewildered expression: [Werewolf]

Well, he had the makings of a great detective, but the species was all wrong, sending the whole character concept in his mind in a strange and complicated direction.

His lifetime aspiration sent things sliding downhill like a mudslide. [Leader of the Pack]: Successfully turn five people into werewolves and collect items worth 40,000 yuan while hunting as a group.

Why had he chosen this again? Lin Mingzhi, who hadn't opened the game since the college entrance exams, couldn't help recalling what had gone through his mind at the time.

By day, William is an elegant detective with blond hair and squinting eyes, sharp senses, and an oddly good temper. By night, Moriarty becomes a lone wolf with black hair and red eyes, casting off every moral boundary he had as a human and wandering freely through the night.

Well, isn't that great? It's pretty cool.

Lin Mingzhi gathered his thoughts and happily started the game.

Then he transmigrated to the world of Detective Conan along with his game character, whose background was just a little bit complicated.

The first problem in front of him was that he couldn't understand the language.

As a first-year Japanese major, all he could do was maintain a strained smile as he faced the neon signs, some of which he could understand and some of which he couldn't.

At least his character's repressed, withdrawn personality would keep him safe, Lin Mingzhi thought to himself.

At the time, he had no idea what kind of world he had arrived in.

He only glanced at the map from his character's The Sims interface, which showed the current city as [Beika], and felt an inexplicable chill from the werewolf's instinctive senses.

Then he opened the tutorial.

In the world of Detective Conan, supernatural elements are impossible. So William Moriarty's werewolf species and lifetime aspiration underwent some subtle changes.

His werewolf form became a member of the Black Organization with multiple personalities, whose hair and eye colors change in a strange way. The task of turning five people into werewolves for the [Leader of the Pack] aspiration became converting five people from the Red side to the Black side, while the task of collecting 40,000 yuan by hunting as a group became earning 400 million yen with the Black side's help.

A big question mark appeared over Lin Mingzhi's little head.jpg

Sumimasen, tutorial, what did you just say?

This isn't how you adapt to local customs!

I finished writing this blurb at 2 a.m. on December 19, 2021. Let's see how long it takes me to update the first chapter.
