[Bold: Third-person narration]
You’re a horror fan. You adore all kinds of horror and infinite-flow novels, and because you love them so much, you can’t stand the plot holes.
So you start complaining.
[Help, why does the protagonist stop to argue with someone or get sentimental while a monster is chasing her? Shouldn’t she keep running instead of waiting to become monster food?]
[I’m so done. Is the protagonist good for nothing but her looks? How can someone like that survive a horror instance?]
[With intelligence like that, why call her an intellectual protagonist? She should be called an idiot protagonist!]
[Can the protagonist do anything besides show off?]
[If the protagonist didn’t have a golden finger, she’d die faster than an expendable extra.]
One day, you type out another scathing comment: [Is this protagonist even any good? I’d do better than her if I were in there!]
Then everything goes black. When you open your eyes, you’re inside an infinite-flow instance, being chased by a monster, with a useless teammate beside you trying to guilt-trip you.
You: !!!
Wait, complaining can actually make it happen?
Help!! Why are readers getting dragged into infinite-flow instances too?!
Your useless teammate shoves you in front of the monster to take the hit. Its fangs are only 0.01 meters away, and foul-smelling drool drips onto your head.
Thinking you’re as good as dead, you give up and blurt out, “Seriously? The monster is invincible right from the start of the instance? Does this mean the world will be destroyed later? Can’t the author build things up gradually?”
[Ding-dong!]
You hear a voice inside your mind.
[Congratulations, player. You have unlocked the skill: Perfect Setup.]
[Your eyes are the ruler. No plot hole can escape your notice, and any plot hole you can find can be fixed.]
And so, the enormous monster visibly shrinks until it’s... about your size.
You escape from the monster’s jaws...
Still shaken, you look up at the sky and sigh: Being a reader sure is freaking dangerous these days!!!
Theme: Be careful what you complain about, and watch out when you show off.
