Story synopsis

From the protagonist's perspective:

Wu Cheng realizes he's fallen for his boss, Mo Yuanzhuo.

It's hardly surprising. Mo Yuanzhuo has been so good to him, saving his life several times and giving him a love like no one else's.

Wu Cheng makes himself fall for a man and resolves to confess his feelings to Mo Yuanzhuo, accepting all the kindness Mo Yuanzhuo has shown him for no apparent reason.

Then Wu Cheng learns that Mo Yuanzhuo had a first love who died young, and discovers a bright red marriage certificate hidden under Mo Yuanzhuo's pillow.

Question: What do you do when the person you've loved for years gets chased, falls, and hits his head so hard he becomes stupid?

Mo Yuanzhuo: Disguise myself, change my name, and protect him.

Reader's guide:

1. One-on-one romance, happy ending. Strong characters at first, then a naturally scheming love interest paired with a seemingly innocent but secretly cunning, flirtatious protagonist who doesn't realize he's flirting.

2. A little political scheming. The setting is made up, so don't scrutinize it too closely.

3. To keep his identity secret, the love interest disguises himself and the protagonist, who has lost his memory. Gu Shian and Wu Cheng are the same person, as are Li Xuanyue and Mo Yuanzhuo.

4. The story follows two timelines, which unfold in alternating order. Volumes one, three, and five share a timeline, while volumes two and four share the other. (It's recommended to read in chapter order. Skipping chapters may spoil things.)
