The Starlight Shines for Me

Xu Qiaomei is placed in a carefully designed environment built to shape her as she grows. She is lovingly protected, while surveillance and manipulation take root in her life so subtly that she barely notices them.

The medication she takes year after year, the school and workplace her family recommends, her roommates, the psychologist she trusts... All of these quietly influence her thoughts and decisions.

She is lured along, innocently following what is supposedly the "right path."

Every day, Xu Qiaomei's behavior and physiological data are secretly recorded, awaiting the day she "bears fruit."

She is the perfect "creation" of a genetic modification experiment. Nothing must be allowed to go wrong.

But Xu Qiaomei knows nothing about any of this. She continues to live her carefree little life, with her biggest worry being that she has to work overtime again today.

Until the day a meteor suddenly fell from the sky, heading straight for her...

After learning the truth, Xu Qiaomei was dumbfounded. Just who was setting me up and trying to ruin my life?!

When I grew up, I learned that I really was the only one who could see that star.

I wanted that star to fall for me, so I made a wish, and it really did come.

That night, starlight from billions of light-years away fell beside me.
