Synopsis
“Psyche” had never fallen in love with any man.
She was summoned to ancient Greece by Apollo to seduce Eros, the god of love, then cruelly abandon him and trample on his sincere feelings.
Apollo claimed this was to avenge Daphne, who had been turned into a laurel tree.
Psyche believed in enjoying life while she could.
And besides, conquering “the god who rules over love in ancient Greece”? Just thinking about it was thrilling.
They hit it off at once.
That very night, Psyche was sent to the temple of the god of love.
*
Eros had known all along about Apollo's revenge.
He had sent a princess chosen by an “oracle” to be the bride of a “monster” like himself, simply because he wanted to see the god who ruled over love lose control for love.
Eros accepted her,
and welcomed even her betrayal with a smile.
But he never expected her to be so clever and gentle.
He punished her, and she quietly endured it, acting vulnerable as she pleaded for his mercy.
When Zeus made things difficult for him, she came up with plans to help.
She even entered the Underworld for him.
To win his love, she was willing to go to hell.
Eros asked what she wanted.
She said, “Freedom.”
Eros froze. “I thought you'd say you wanted me.”
Psyche did not answer. She turned to leave, but he gripped her wrist tightly. His golden bow hummed behind him. “You should have known by now... The price of provoking the god of love is that you'll never escape my arrows, for all eternity.”
Eros's voice was hoarse, trembling with barely restrained emotion. “You want freedom? I'll give it to you. But I have to be part of your freedom.”
Theme: Conquer “the god who rules over love in ancient Greece.”
I felt very confused after reading it. Didn't the Spring God and Hades fall in love with each other? Why did they fall in love with the Wind God again? And how could Hades have an illegitimate child [covering face and laughing] [covering face and crying]
