This Kitty Might Be About to Sink Her Boat!

Meow, I’m a wise cat demon, undefeated in the mountains and forests. I rule all the fish in the nearby river, and I’m super mighty!

One day, I heroically rescued a beauty and took in a very docile two-legged beast. Oh, wait, I should call him a human.

Humans are so hard to take care of.

He won’t eat fresh fish, or the little sparrows I catch in the trees, or even the plumpest mice in their burrows!

What on earth do humans eat? Why won’t he eat this or that?

He may be hard to feed, but my human minion gives amazing massages. I think very highly of him, and worry he might starve to death.

I take very good care of my human minion, and he repays my kindness. After inviting me home, he feeds me dutifully. Every day he gives me lots of dried fish, and even deep-sea fish I’ve never had before. So delicious!

I’m very pleased with how my human minion is doing.

That is, until a month later, when my well-behaved minion suddenly rebelled and told me to lose weight.

Outrageous! Lose weight? What for?

I was so furious I yelled, “Meow!”

Meow meow meow?!

I’m not getting enough to eat! I protested fiercely, but my human minion was cold-hearted and unmoved.

After some thought, I decided to find a few more docile human minions to pay me protection money in the form of dried fish.

I did it in secret because the human minion I value most gets jealous, so I decided to humor him a little.

I’m a master of time management. Not only do I eat my fill at three different minions’ homes every day, I also stash the dried fish I can’t finish in a hollow in a crooked tree in the neighborhood.

At first, I moved like a shadow, light and silent, and none of them knew the others existed.

But one day, after getting a little too round from all that eating, I got stuck in the tree hollow.

I tried with all my might, but couldn’t squeeze back out.

To make matters worse, a noisy human child found me stuck in the hollow. His parents filmed me and posted the video online, and soon the whole neighborhood knew about my humiliating predicament.

After that, all three of my devoted human minions hurried over to the tree.

They called out anxiously to me, stuck in the hollow, using my names:

The overbearing CEO minion: “Zhaozhao!”

The gentle movie star minion: “Yuanyuan!”

The puppy-like top student minion: “Little Sugar Cake!”

A moment later, the firefighters they had each called arrived.

The firefighters had received three separate emergency calls, but found only one cat. A handsome firefighter gave me a puzzled look, as if I were a heartbreaker, and asked the three men, “So whose cat is this?”

The overbearing CEO minion: “Obviously mine!”

The gentle movie star minion: “Yuanyuan is my cat.”

The puppy-like top student minion: “Mine. He’s mine.”

After arguing for a while, the three human minions all looked at me. My paws shrank back inside the hollow.

I think I’m in trouble...
