She Lost the Rose She Had So Carefully Nurtured

1:

Chi Siyu once imagined her future as bright and wonderful. She would achieve her dreams, then spend the rest of her life with the person she loved most.

But her family fell apart, turning her from a pampered little princess into a stray dog in the dirt, someone anyone could kick.

Luckily, the person she loved most reached out to her at her most painful moment.

From then on, she became Ye Fuzhi's canary.

Ye Fuzhi helped her emerge from her grief and soothe her wounds. It seemed she had the right to dream again.

She thought Ye Fuzhi loved her too, until one day she overheard Ye Fuzhi talking with her friends.

Her tone was casual, faintly flippant, as though she'd just heard a joke.

Only then did Chi Siyu realize that, to Ye Fuzhi, she was nothing but a canary.

2:

Ye Fuzhi thought Chi Siyu would stay by her side for the rest of her life.

After all, over the past few years, Chi Siyu had become a parasitic vine, living by clinging to her.

She couldn't believe the other woman could leave her.

But now, this canary had escaped its cage.

Ye Fuzhi suddenly lost all trace of her. She searched every corner and asked everyone she could.

She had to admit one thing: she was the one who couldn't live without Chi Siyu.

So which one of them was the canary, and which was the cage-maker?
