#Went away to work, struck it rich overnight, found a husband and a kid, and has plenty of fish to play with.#
After countless hardships, Qin Gui made it from his remote hometown to the Empire. He works in whale rescue at the Avya Star Research Institute.
His daily duties are petting whales, taking dolphins for walks, and escorting lost sea otters home... It's practically paradise.
But Qin Gui doesn't know that many of the whales who come to play with him are actually Imperial elites who've regressed to their ancestral forms after their mental seas collapsed.
Especially the giant blue whale who keeps disappearing without warning. He's actually the ruler of the Empire, Lin Chengxing.
His Majesty has been in his ancestral form for over two years, and every doctor has given up hope of his recovery.
Until one day, the little rescue worker, having saved enough to start a business, sailed over to say goodbye to the big blue whale. He said he was quitting, going home, buying a house, and getting married.
At that, the big blue whale was so angry that he shot a column of water fifteen meters into the air. He transformed into His Majesty the Emperor on the spot and grabbed the rescue worker, refusing to let him go. "You used to pet me and hug me. I demand that you take responsibility for me right now, this instant!"
Drenched from head to toe, the rescue worker stared at Mr. Blue Whale, whose face was fierce but whose looks were devilishly handsome. Trembling, he said, "The elders say that humans and demons... demons can't... can't have a happy ending together."
His Majesty the Emperor's vision went black. His newly repaired mental sea nearly collapsed all over again.
Bonus Scene One:
Lately, word has spread throughout the sea about a new biped who is incredibly generous. Give him a bubble, and he'll give you food.
Orcas from miles around have come to investigate.
Qin Gui warmly welcomed every visitor, offering each one a big fish and a bonus scratching service.
Chubby Orca: This biped's a keeper.
