[Ultraman] Mirage

"Have we met before?" With the hand still clutching the X-Flash hidden behind his back, and the faint scent of lavender lingering in the air, Daiku Daichi faced the girl before him and asked, slightly stunned. "What a coincidence. I was thinking the same thing." The phantom light at her fingertips behind her back had just faded. The embodiment of light from the farthest reaches of the universe followed her heart and answered. * Radiance descended from the church dome, and a mysterious rose-colored spot stained the edge of the sky, guiding the bonds onward. A mirage, also called a fata morgana, is a natural phenomenon caused by the refraction and total reflection of light. It forms when light reflected off objects on Earth is refracted by the atmosphere, creating virtual images. At its heart, it is an optical phenomenon. In other words, it is another form of light. "That's right. Creating illusions like mirages is one of my special abilities." "I mean no harm. I just want to find my past." Kyouya leaned against the workbench, a bouquet of lavender in her arms. She tilted her head and smiled brightly at Daichi. "Kyouya..." To Daiku Daichi, the person before him always felt strangely familiar, as if they had known each other for a long time. That bright, faint sadness had also made her quietly reserved. He had thought all those premonitions were just coincidences. He had thought so. The X in his terminal seemed to have met her before, too. The feeling of familiarity was strong, but X couldn't remember the details either. "Looking for... your past?" * "A world filled with light, without sadness or tears." "Kyouya, have you been through something terrible?" "Yes. But if such a place really exists, I'll go there. I will, no matter the cost." "The rainbow is beautiful, Daichi." "Yeah, it is." The two gazed at the rainbow-colored sky. The distant illusion mingled with its colors, as if they had fallen into a vivid, multicolored dream. Theme: Those who are lost often carry shackles they don't yet know about.
