A Little Nocturne of Dreams [Roleplaying Game]

This story is complete, so you can read it with peace of mind!

My next story will be "Childhood Friends in the Escape Room World [Infinite]". Please add it to your favorites!

Synopsis:

The moment you open your eyes, you find yourself playing Joanna Black in a full-dive tabletop role-playing game.

Dust swirls through the air. In the remote town of Water, danger is quietly drawing near.

A string of teenage girl disappearances, a bizarre circus, an organization whose true nature is unknown, and a police force that is not what it seems all intertwine in a magnificent symphony.

As the sun sets, the Nocturne of Dreams begins to play. The only thing that can decide your fate is... the dice.

Reader's Guide:

1. This is a full-dive tabletop role-playing game. It is based on local rules for Call of Cthulhu Seventh Edition, with some modifications.

2. This is a secret campaign. The investigators do not know who their teammates are at the start.

3. Every investigator has their own backstory, which may include out-of-character elements.

4. A successful roleplay check counts as an automatic success, so no dice roll is needed.

Upcoming story: "Childhood Friends in the Escape Room World [Infinite]"

Synopsis:

Former delinquent Xiang Keren was talked into it by the beloved upperclasswoman she admired, and stepped into the world of escape rooms. Her assigned partner, of all people, was her childhood friend Jiang Sinian, nicknamed "Old Man" by everyone who knew him.

Can two people who have been talking past each other their whole lives work together to test a full-dive escape room game?

Xiang Keren's mouth twitched as she waved him off. "No deal. Nothing good ever happens when we're together."

Jiang Sinian adjusted his glasses and let loose with a stream of profanity. "It's fine. We win by punching the System's dog head in. You can do it, sweetie."

Powerhouse childhood friend x brainy childhood friend

Reader's Guide:

1. The game takes inspiration from the variety shows The Great Escape and Great Escape Room, with some settings changed or removed.

2. As is customary, this is a 1v1 happy ending, with no love-triangle voting.

3. Some stages contain mild horror and suspense elements. There will be a warning in the author's notes.

Theme: Struggle against the current and keep moving forward.
