How to Bully the Male Lead of an Imperial Exam Novel

Gu Yunxi, who had been reincarnated into this world as a baby years ago, learned that she was a cannon-fodder female supporting character in a male lead’s imperial examination novel. When the System ordered her to bully Xie Ke, the male lead who was now living at her house, Gu Yunxi refused.

Her character wouldn’t allow it.

But Gu Yunxi never expected that, at their first meeting, Xie Ke would sneer that her outfit was merely passable.

Gu Yunxi had spent ages getting dressed up, and she flew into a rage. She decided that from then on, she and Xie Ke would be sworn enemies, locked in a fight to the death.

When Xie Ke wrote calligraphy, she scoffed and sneered.

When Xie Ke’s fame spread far and wide and he became the talk of the capital, she scoffed. “He’s just chasing fame and fortune.”

Xie Ke...

No matter how much everyone else praised Xie Ke, Gu Yunxi made full use of her skills as a vicious supporting character and picked fights with him every day.

Until Xie Ke passed the highest imperial examination and became its top scholar, then sent the people who had once offended him to prison. Gu Yunxi lost her nerve.

To save her own skin, Gu Yunxi reluctantly handed over her private savings.

Xie Ke looked at Gu Yunxi across from him. Her lips were pursed, her face was cold, and her legs were shaking like a chick’s. “Miss Yun, are you bringing me your dowry in advance?”

Huh?

Gu Yunxi was dumbfounded.

“Then I’ll discuss it with your parents. Shall we have our families arrange the wedding early?” Xie Ke said with a faint smile.

Gu Yunxi: ???

A little extra:

After they married, Gu Yunxi was constantly on edge, afraid Xie Ke would bully her. She kept a small bundle hidden away, ready to run back to her parents’ home at any moment.

After the servants discovered the young madam’s secret bundle for the Nth time, they asked Xie Ke what to do. He smiled faintly. “Help Madam hide it somewhere more secure.”
